Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 fortifies brand's arsenal in PH

MANILA: Royal Enfield has expanded its lineup in Philippines with the launch of the Shotgun 650.

Motociclista Scatola Incorporated (MSI)’s latest offering is said to “defy categorization in both spirit and form.”

“Its modular design enables it to switch between three modes—from single seater to double seater to luggage-carrying tourer—with ease. Each of its four unique colorways draws from the culture of customization, offering a canvas for self-expression for builders and beginners,” the marque posted on its website.

So, what can be seen in the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650?

Dimension

The Chennai-headquartered brand's latest offering measures 2,220 millimeters (mm) long; 820 mm wide; and 1,105 mm tall with a 1,465-mm wheelbase and 140-mm ground clearance.

Further, it offers a seat height of 795 mm, giving its owners a flat-foot stance for enhanced riding confidence while its tank can carry 13.8 liters of fuel.

Aesthetics

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 provides a neo-classic look that riders will surely love.

Based on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 middleweight cruiser, the bobber comes with an-LED illumination system — with the front lamps fitted in a custom, neo-modern nacelle. Its lights are all rounded in shape, taking cues from the design that custom builders usually utilize.

In addition, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is outfitted with a leather bucket seat that allows the seating configuration to transform from single to dual easily.

Dishing out the motorcycle’s retro look are the gloss aluminum switchgears with adjustable levers.

Performance

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is powered by a 648 cubic-centimeter parallel twin, four-stroke, single overhead cam air-oil cooled fuel-injected gasoline engine. This is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

While it can deliver up to 34 horsepower, the mill is also fuel efficient as it can do 22 kilometers per liter.

Facilitating the halts and deceleration are the disc brakes with dual-channel anti brakelock system.

Technologies

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 also has nifty features like digital and analogue gauges (which has a Tripper Navigator feature) behind the small cowling, and a Type-A USB port.

Available in Sheet Metal Grey, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Stencil White, Royal Enfield’s latest product in the Philippines is retailed in three trims at the following options:
