During the club anniversary, its members also celebrated its new officers. The flock of owners gathered in the early morning of March 2 for a ride to the Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in San Fernando La Union with a quick detour at Pinewoods Country Club in Baguio City.
Per Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, they traveled a total of 285 kilometers with a good mix of freeway cruises and twisties that underscored the performance and capabilities offered by the big bikes from the Japanese motorcycle brand.
According to the local arm of the Shizuoka-headquartered company, its motorcycles displayed power, performance, comfort, maneuverability, and control throughout the said ride.
The event culminated at the beautiful Santorini of Asia – Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point veranda backdropped with the stunning La Union sunset where everyone enjoyed a feast over food and music.
In addition, photo slideshows documenting SBB’s 10 years on the road from their rides and activities locally and even abroad were showcased during the event.
The occasion — Suzuki Philippines Incorporated pointed out — also saw new sets of officers to carry on SBB's core values and advocacy.
“Founded in 2014, SBB was established with then SBB President and now Consultant Edwin Matthew Cua in partnership with Mr. Roscoe Odulio VP (Vice President) for Sales and Marketing of Wheeltek Nationwide Corporation. This is alongside the dealer's first successful selling of big bikes in the country. Suzuki has always been the first brand of motorcycle choice by the Wheeltek group and this celebration highlighted this deep relationship even more,” Suzuki wrote in a press release.
“SBB is one of the biggest Suzuki Big Bikes clubs in the Philippines with over 100 members. The group has become instrumental to the growth and popularity of Suzuki Big Bikes in the country and has also helped in spreading awareness of safety riding and extending help through charity rides over the years,” it added.
Suzuki's big bike lineup in the Philipines include the V-Strom 1050 DE, Katana, and GSX S1000.
