MANILA: Suzuki Philippines has officially launched the Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE and the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX at the Makina Motoshow 2023.

    The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE, a proud member of Suzuki's legendary V-Strom family, is designed to ignite a sense of adventure. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE opens up new paths for thrill and excitement while exuding luxury and style. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE is loaded with unique features designed to improve its capability to successfully navigate gravel and other uneven surfaces present on rural roads, green lanes, and camp trails.

    With a product concept of “The Master of Adventure - For Wherever Your Journey Takes You,” the Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE demonstrates the efforts made to upgrade a bike that already enjoys a good reputation as a highly competent sports adventure tourer. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE symbolizes the commitment to meeting the demands of riders who desire a rugged bike to transport them anywhere they want. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE also gives riders a choice of optimizations to better suit their preferences for partaking in various adventure activities.

    All of the performance, utility, and cutting-edge innovations that made the Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT an advantage over rivals are included in the new Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE. This includes the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS)'s comprehensive suite of advanced electronic control technologies.

    While maintaining the distinguishing characteristics of the Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT, the new Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE also comes with additional features that are designed to enhance performance on uneven surfaces. One of these is the 21-inch front tire with a semi-block design. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE is also designed with a longer rake and wheelbase to improve controllability on gravel and flat surfaces, a longer suspension stroke to better absorb bumps on uneven roads, wider handlebars, wider steel footpegs, an aluminum skid plate, and a standard accessory bar. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE also adds a new Gravel mode to the Suzuki Traction Control System and the ability to switch off the rear ABS.

    The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE is available in three colors: Champion Yellow/Metallic Matt Sword Silver, Pearl Vigor Blue/Pearl Brilliant White, and Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matt Black. The Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE retails for P899,000.

    Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is a new variant of the popular Suzuki motorcycle, featuring a more sophisticated style that exudes elegance and more cutting-edge features in response to customer demand.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is powered by a 125cc fuel-injected, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine with Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha technology.

    The Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha is Suzuki's latest engine technology, which includes the Engine Auto Stop-Start system that turns the engine off automatically when it is idle. A Silent Starter System is another new feature that offers a smoother, quieter start.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX has a maximum fuel efficiency of 52.6 km/L.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is equipped with an upgraded, fully digital instrument panel designed for better visibility and increased rider convenience. It also provides comprehensive information through a number of features, including an Engine Auto Stop-Start Indicator, Eco Drive Indicator, Engine Temperature, Battery Voltage Indicator, Digital Clock, Fuel Gauge, Oil Change Indicator, Dual Trip Meter, Fuel Consumption, and Engine Check Indicator.

    The combined braking system promotes balanced deceleration and more reliable stopping power by evenly distributing braking force to the front and rear wheels.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX now has a 12-inch tubeless rear tire for better performance and smoother ride. It is equipped with the signature premium Burgman seat, which provides stability and comfort on long rides.

    The LED headlight, position lamp, and tail lamp all guarantee improved visibility, especially at night. Meanwhile, a body-mounted windscreen enhances aerodynamics by minimizing wind blasts. The dynamic and premium look of the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is further enhanced by the upward muffler design.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX comes with a two-liter lidded front glove box with a USB outlet for added convenience. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX also has a large under-seat compartment that has a capacity of 21.5 liters.

    The extended wheelbase increases riding stability, while the Flexible Foot Position allows for more comfortable riding. 

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX was designed with the rider's safety and convenience in mind. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX comes with a Side Stand Safety Switch that prevents the engine from starting when the side stand is engaged. Further security is provided by the One Push Central Locking System, a unique safety switch.

    The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is available in two premium colors: Metallic Royal Bronze and Metallic Matte Black. The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 EX is priced at P92,400.

    New leadership and jingle

    Suzuki Philippines also introduced Koichiro Hirao as its new president during the event. Hirao previously worked at Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan as the Motorcycle Marketing and Planning Department General Manager. Prior to that, he served as the Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) from 2019 to 2021. At the event, he was joined by the Managing Director Norminio Mojica, Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Division General Manager Jun Bulot, Motorcycle National Sales Manager Erick Fernandez, and Motorcycle Marketing Manager Nenuka Guba.

    Suzuki Philippines also revealed its new “Suzuki Oras na Para Mag-motor” jingle, aiming to encourage people to ride motorcycles. The jingle's upbeat melody will undoubtedly appeal to Filipinos.
