Suzuki Raider Big Ride Mindanao leg sees huge turnout

MANILA: Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines successfully conducted the Mindanao leg of the  Raider Big Ride event. The event was held in Davao City as part of the brand’s continued celebration of the Raider R150’s continued dominance in the Philippine underbone market segment.

In total, the Raider Big Ride’s stint in the King City of the South saw a turnout of 1,124 Raider R150 riders, all of whom participated in a convoy stretching a total of three kilometers in length. The large convoy of the owners of Suzuki’s premier underbone model rode 35 kilometers from Davao City to the Panabo Gym in Davao Del Sur. 

At the said destination, participants were treated to fun activities and games. The latter included a raffle contest, with a brand-new V-Strom 250 SX as the grand prize. Participants also got to meet a number of popular Davao-based Motovloggers and jam together with the Raider 150 Riders Davao City Dance Troupe and Tawag ng Tanghalan’s The Rivera Sisters. 

Also present at the event to personally thank the participants for their continuous support of the Raider R150 were Suzuki Philippines Incorporated executives. The latter includes Regional Sales Manager for Mindanao Dave Obrial, Marketing Communications Group Head Edelyn Yanilla, Products Team Acting Group Head Victoria Caringal, and Field Marketing Group Head Johnny De Guzman. 

According to the motorcycle brand, the participating riders come from various motorcycle clubs nationwide. These include the R150 Raider Fi Club, Allied Raider R150 Riders Club, Davao Riders Club, Philippines Raider R150 Fe Club Inc., R150 Allstar Nation, Raider R150 Riders Davao City, Suzuki Tachometrix, Team Motor Tech, and Torque Riders Organization Philippines Incorporated. 

For those wanting to join the growing army of Suzuki Raider R150 riders in the Philippines, the said underbone motorcycle model’s Standard variant and R150 are offered at a retail price of P106,900. The Raider R150 Fuel Injection (FI), meanwhile, retails at P119,900, and the Raider J Crossover at P69,900. 

The most powerful amongst the latter is the Raider R150 Fi. At the most, its 148cc liquid-cooled gasoline engine can produce up to 18.2 horsepower and 13.8 Newton Meters of torque. Shifting on this two-wheeler is done via a six-speed gearbox. It also gets front and rear disc brakes, adjustable headlights, and a digital fuel gauge, among others.
