Terminator 2, Harley Davidson Fat Boy auctioned for $480,000
MANILA: One of the most iconic motorcycle stunt scenes in Hollywood was performed on a Harley Davidson Fat Boy. In 1991 film “Terminator 2” Arnold himself chose the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy as his choice of wheels. The stunt in the movie was to jump the bike over a bridge into LA storm drain, it is one of the most famous motorcycle stunts in cinema history. They aren’t any details specifying the mechanical condition of the bike but it appears to be in solid condition cosmetically.
If you cannot visualize the bike, take your mind back to the Terminator 2: The Judgement day. In the opening scene where a T-800 stride naked casually in a bar and scans the patrons. After a while, he looks at a biker dude and gives one of the most dashing lines ever, “I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorbike”.
The bike is a part of the “Icons and Legends of Hollywood” auction. Experts estimated the sale of the bike to fetch a maximum of $300,000 but it sold way over $480,000. The Fatboy was released a year before the movie and is still Harley-Davidson’s best-selling model. Even the employees working at Harley thank the movie for the bike’s success, and Terminator 2 was itself one of the highest grossing movies of all times. The bike is not the only thing that is being auctioned, more than 2,000 pieces of movie props and costumes were open for sales.
