This Ducati will make you want to ride e-scooters again
MANILA: With physical distancing a major requisite to opening economies worldwide, the big question is how will employees get around with limited mobility options.
Ducati has the answer – electric scooters. These are just two of four new e-scooters, including three electric bikes, the Italian maker is set to launch that will increase urban mobility during these challenging times, while making you look cool in the process.
All products were designed and curated by the Ducati Design Center in collaboration with Italdesign (Italian design and engineering company), and will fall under the Ducati, Ducati Corse, and Ducati Scrambler.
The e-scooters will have motors from 250W to 500W while the e-bikes will have a 250W motor.
On 20 June 2020, the first of two e-scooters will be launched, the Cross-E. Branded as a Ducati Scrambler, it will use ‘fat’ anti-puncture tubeless tires (110/50-6.5”) that can go on dirt and uneven roads. The motor pumps out 500W and the 375Wh battery gives it a range of 30-35 kilometers at an average speed of 15 km/h. It has double front headlights and three riding modes displayed on its large 3.5” LCD display.
06 July 2020 is when the Ducati-branded Pro II launches. It has a 280Wh battery and a 350W motor that can take it 25-30 kilometers max. It’s equipped with a rear suspension, 10” puncture-proof tubeless tires, double brakes, and a large 3.5” LCD display.
The folding e-bikes will launch soon after and will come with twilight-activated lights, among other innovative features.
