Yamaha Motor PH poised to surpass 3 GWR this weekend
3.5k riders eyed to join record-breaking event
MANILA: Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) is set to break three Guinness World Records over the coming weekend.
The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer’s local arm said that it is poised to surpass the current record on most engines started simultaneously, most motorcycle horns sounded simultaneously, and the largest parade of Yamaha motorcycles.
To note, YMPH holds the current record for the largest parade of Yamaha motorcycles. Meanwhile, the company will try to regain the other two records that were previously held in 2014.
According to the Hamamatsu-headquartered marque’s distributor in the Philippines, 3,500 riders from various local Yamaha Clubs shall join the record-breaking event on July 13 in Pasay City — more than doubling the number of participants who were at the 2014 program.
“With different Yamaha club groups involved, this activity does not only lie in showcasing how united the community is, but it also comes from a deeper sense. Yamaha Motor Philippines has endeavored to create diverse value through products and services as a motorcycle brand,” the company said in a statement.
“Every activity must create Kando, a Japanese word for the simultaneous feelings of deep satisfaction and intense excitement that we experience when we encounter something of exceptional value. Yamaha, being a kando-creating company works to make every rider realize the excitement awaits in having their own Yamaha, and it includes even as ambitious as it sounds, owning triple world records,” it added.
