Yamaha PH celebrates Paz’ impressive performance in 2023 FIM JRGP

MANILA: Kyle Paz, the first-ever Filipino racer in the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) JuniorGP World Championship Moto2 division, heads into the off-season after competing in Spain and Portugal.

Now in his second year with the Yamaha Philippines Stylobike Racing team, Paz maintained his excellent performance in 2023 despite being sidelined for the entirety of the third round due to an injury. He was also eliminated in the sixth round due to mechanical issues.

“Wonderboy” started the season with a 15th-place finish and even climbed to the 14th spot in the second round.

After his break during the third round, he went back placing 14th in the Races 1 and 2 of the fourth round. He showed consistent performance in the fifth round, finishing 14th in the first race and 12th in the second race.

Despite the challenges he encountered this season, Paz continues to be the epitome of Philippine racing prowess and a ray of hope for the upcoming generation of riders who aspire to compete internationally.

“An aspiring racer in his younger years, he understands the responsibility of being an example for Filipino riders. The challenges that he’s gone through required sacrifices that were necessary to achieve victory. He hopes that the next crop of future champions learn that hard work and discipline is what propelled him to the next level,” Yamaha Motor Philippines stated in a press release.
