Yamaha PH honors 2 Filipino sports vanguards in virtual event
MANILA: Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. hosted the “Making History Never Ends — The Filipino Pride Homecoming” virtual event to celebrate the two sports greats who have recently brought pride to the country.
The online event featured Yamaha’s McKinley Kyle Paz, the first Filipino to participate in the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship. Paz returned to the country for a quick break before the last round of his race. After spending months with the VR46 Mastercamp Racing Team, Paz showed significant improvement and kept up with the world’s best young racers who are all aiming to be part of the MotoGP.
The event also honored Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam. After his achievement in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the boxer received a YZF-R6 motorcycle from Yamaha Motor Philippines. The company also provided Paalam an exclusive basic safety riding training with Coach Joey Storm at the Clark Speedway. He also received a special helmet that signifies his official entry into the motorsports world.
“These two athletes who have achieved so much this year will undoubtedly showcase more of their talent for years to come and with every competition, it will only bring more pride for each Filipino,” Yamaha Motor Philippines said in a statement.
