Yamaha YRF-R15M said to redefine high-performance riding

MANILA: The Yamaha YRF-R15M has finally made its Philippine debut and is poised to revolutionize racing. This breakthrough motorcycle is created for riders who desire high-performance riding both on and off the track. It features the latest in advanced technology from the R brand, as well as a signature motorsports identity that can only be conferred by authentic Yamaha Racing DNA. This masterfully crafted machine will awaken one's racing passion and intensify the thrill of every corner with every rev.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Yamaha YRF-R15M?

The Yamaha YRF-R15M is powered by a 155cc LC4V SOHC FI engine.
  • How much is the Yamaha YRF-R15M?

The Icon Performance color variant is priced at P189,500 and the Anniversary White color variant retails for P193,500.
  • The YRF-R15M is powered by a 155-cc LC4V SOHC FI engine and VVA. With a higher displacement, this new engine produces more horsepower while also improving overall efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. The YRF-R15M  also has an Assist and Slipper Clutch, Traction Control System, and Quick Shifter, a first for a Yamaha single-cylinder motorcycle, enabling quick and smooth, clutchless, full-throttle upshifts.

It retains the prestigious R-Series DNA, and the aerodynamic body design has revamped fairings for superb high-speed stability. When the rider is in a racing tuck, the low profile and small frontal projected area work well with the M1-styled bubble windscreen to help keep oncoming wind from being pulled in around the rider. This helps  lessen discomfort when riding at high speeds. This model is also equipped with a new headlight that has a single bi-functional LED unit which emits both low and high beams. This is defined by increased brightness, a wide beam spread, and low variation in illumination across the beam. The LCD instrument panel features new indicators for shift timing, Traction Control System, and individual left and right turn signals. The rider can choose between two display modes on the panel: Street mode, which prioritizes information needed for city riding, and Track mode, which restricts information to what a rider needs for the racetrack, such as setting the tachometer bar to start at 6,000rpm.

This model does not compromise on comfort as it comes with upside down front forks that provide great shock absorption. Both the front and rear disc brakes are controlled by the dual channel ABS, which provides optimum braking control. The super wide tire has a diameter of 140mm and is designed to provide improved grip on both wet and dry roads. When the side stand is down, the engine is turned off for safety reasons. This guarantees that the side stand is folded up when the motorcycle is used.

Other notable features include aluminum swing arm, special seat, dual horn, meter panel switch, top cap engraved with logo, 3D logo, and gray color muffler guard.

The YZF-R15M is developed to give unrivaled racing authenticity. It comes in two colorways: Icon Performance (P189,500) and Anniversary White (P193,500).
