Aston Martin DB11 Interior & Features
The Aston Martin DB11 might not look too futuristic and gadget-filled on the inside as its other rivals. However, it is this understated elegance of the DB11 which makes it even more special. It gets all the modern essentials blended together in an extremely well-appointed cabin, which can be customized as per your choice of colors and leather.
The three-part full TFT instrument console behind the rather simple-looking three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel is modern and packed with colorful information and controls. The waterfall-like center console might look a bit dated to some but is well-finished with piano black surrounds and knurled silver controls. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system atop the centre console might look like an after-thought at the first place, but is easy to use.
For a car of this class, the Aston Martin DB11 is well-equipped too, with it getting features like heated, ventilated, and electronically adjustable seats with memory function and a premium 400W audio system. However, for the equipment list also, Aston Martin is providing you a plethora of options as add-ons.
DB11 Exterior
Compared to all the top-class supercars available in the world, the Aston Martin DB11 holds the distinction of being a comfortable grand tourer. It is not as edgy and low-slung as other supercars which are priced similarly to it. However, the curvaceous design and long wheelbase and overhangs do lend it a poised stance, which surely makes it look very elegant.
At the front, the Aston Martin DB11 tells you that it is very much an Aston Martin by heart with its front grille, which in a familiar manner, gets curved outer edges and horizontal slats running within it. The headlamps look sleek, with the angular and curved units packing in full LED lights within them. The front splitter at the bottom of the bumper gives it the aura of a high-performance car, which it truly is.
It is the side profile of the Aston Martin DB11 which looks the best, with its long wheelbase and large 20-inch machined alloy wheels giving it a very elegant stance to it. Adding more visual drama to the car is its two-door look with flush-type door handles, curved roofline, and flared and large wheel arches. At the back, the Aston Martin DB11 looks super sleek with its slim boomerang-shaped LED tail lamps and a clean look for the boot lid.
Aston Martin DB11 Ride & Handling
Compared to other supercars available, the Aston Martin DB11 is a pure high-speed, comfortable, grand tourer that is engineered to munch miles in style. The car comes with an electronically adjustable suspension setup of independent double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear, both of which get anti-roll bars and adaptive dampers. The adaptive damping system of the car features three Skyhook technology modes – GT, Sport, and Sport+.
DB11 Engine & Fuel Consumption
There are two engine options made available for the Aston Martin DB11. First is the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, which makes 528 bhp of maximum power and 675 Nm of maximum torque. This engine can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in 4.1 seconds and attain a top speed of 309 kmph. Then comes the range-topping 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine, which also features cylinder deactivation technology. This engine puts up maximum power and torque outputs of 630 bhp and 700 Nm respectively, do 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and attain a top speed of 334 kmph. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is the standard transmission available.
Aston Martin DB11 Braking & Safety
The Aston Martin DB11 is armed with a decent list of safety features, including front and side airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, dynamic stability control, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, positive torque control, dynamic torque vectoring, tyre pressure monitoring system, blind-spot detection and many more.
DB11 Verdict
The Aston Martin DB11 is a wholesome experience and a beautiful combination of style and performance. The DB11 does what other supercars usually fail to do – take from one place to another in complete comfort, without compromising on outright performance.
