Ferrari Portofino Interior & Features
The interior cabin of the Ferrari Portofino shares a lot with the more family-oriented Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T, with the overall layout of the dashboard having a number of modern-day usable features. The cabin can be had in one of the innumerable themes available, and exudes top-class fit and finish.
The driver’s cockpit of the Ferrari Portofino looks focused with a carbon fiber finished flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel as well as a very comprehensive instrument console. This console packs in a centrally placed analog tachometer and two rectangular screens on its either sides, which show a range of data while on the go.
The center console of the Ferrari Portofino consists of a wide hexagonal touchscreen infotainment system, and at the upper corners of this system is placed around AC vents with silver finish surrounding them. There is an additional touch-sensitive slim screen tucked in between the upper and lower layers of the dashboard on the co-passenger side, which shows the data of both instrument console and infotainment system. The cabin has four seats, though the rear seats are not too useful for full-sized adults due to the cramped space at the back.
Portofino Exterior
Being a Ferrari, the Ferrari Portofino looks a very well sculpted and smooth looking car, which has the ability to make one go weak on his knees for the timeless aura it possesses. The car is a perfect balance of aggression and subtlety in the way it looks, which has been a trait of all the Ferraris in the past as well.
At the front, the Ferrari Portofino possesses a slightly busy design, with a smile-like front grille with tapered outer edges positioned on the front bumper. The front bumper also gets air inlets, and there are a couple of more air inlets mounted on the front bonnet with a vertical bulge running in the middle of them.
There are sleek L-shaped full LED headlamps comprising of LED projectors and daytime running LEDs, with the upper edge of the headlamp making way for a smooth curve flowing towards the back. The side profile of the Ferrari Portofino looks quite soothing, thanks to prominent curves over the wheel arches and a sharp crease, which flows from the front fender to the middle of the doors. This crease houses a triangular air vent to aid in aerodynamics.
There is bulge behind both the rear seats as well, which flow down towards the rear profile of the car, which comprises of a curved upper integrated spoiler. There is a round LED tail lamp on either side, both of which are adjoined by a smooth curved line below them, apart from the boot integrated spoiler. The rear bumper looks heavy with black finished diffusors and dual exhaust pipes on both the corners
Ferrari Portofino Ride & Handling
The Ferrari Portofino has a super stiff suspension setup, which in combination with sharply tuned steering feedback, imparts very involving driving dynamics into the car. This rear-engine rear-wheel-drive car feels amazing to drive whatever the kind of stretch or curved roads are.
Portofino Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Ferrari Portofino shares its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with the GTC4 Lusso T, in the same state of tune. That means, here in the Ferrari Portofino too, this engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and pumps out maximum power and torque outputs of 620 PS and 760 Nm respectively.
Ferrari Portofino Braking & Safety
Despite being a super-premium car, the Ferrari Portofino has a quite limited number of safety features on offer, with the most noteworthy ones being front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability program and reverse camera.
Portofino Verdict
The Ferrari Portofino is a coming of age Ferrari super car, which values the original virtues of all the Ferraris in the past, of having a sleek and timeless design coupled with no-compromise approach in terms of performance and driving dynamics.
