Recent Updates of Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019)
The Fiesta hatchback has always been that one car for the masses which has provided thrills and pure driving pleasure at a very affordable price. Continuing the tradition, the current generation Ford Fiesta fits the bill with its sporty exteriors and precise driving dynamics. However, the interior cabin needs a refresh with an addition of new-age contemporary features and a more sophisticated layout. Powering the Fiesta is a choice of two engine options, both of which are petrol. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine pumps out 112 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque and gets both the options of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the more-sophisticated 1.0-litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine puts up 125 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, and gets only the 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Ford Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Review 2024
The Ford Fiesta is highly revered among the enthusiasts as one of the best driver’s cars you can buy on a budget. With its reputation of highly efficient in driving dynamics, the Fiesta is one car which manages to break the monotony in a segment which is highly conscious only about the more practical aspects of fuel economy and comfort. The Ford Fiesta hatchback in the Philippines is the facelifted avatar of the sixth-generation Fiesta, which was only replaced by a new seventh-generation version globally. In the Philippines, the Fiesta is being offered with two petrol powertrains and three variants – 1.5 MT, 1.5 AT, and 1.0 AT. The Fiesta is available in a range of six color options, namely Frozen White, Shadow Black, Ingot Silver, Winning Blue, Red Candy, and Mars Red.
Ford Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Exterior
The Ford Fiesta hatchback currently available in the Philippines is the sixth generation version, which was highly praised for that lovely Aston-Martin like front end at the time of its arrival. The overall appearance of the Fiesta is very sporty, with low-slung stance and sporty design elements, making it an eye-catcher.
The Fiesta gets a wide hexagonal grille at the front, which is reminiscent to that of the Aston Martin cars. The sweptback curvy headlamps are positioned quite at a height above the upper corners of the front grille, giving the front end a very aggressive stance.
The side profile of the Fiesta is the best angle to look at the car, with the pouncing-forward stance of the car giving it a very athletic appeal. The rakish shoulder-line with chrome finish, chunky door handles and a thick prominent character line flowing all the way from the front fender to the rear tail lamp, make the Fiesta look very sporty. However, the multi-spoke design of the 16-inch alloy wheels look very understated and look a bit out of place on the rather very sporty looking Fiesta.
At the rear, the Fiesta comes with a large rear bumper and a rather smaller rear hatch, with the angular vertical tail lamps placed adjacent to the boot. The rear bumper comes with a large black cladding on its lower portion, while the roof mounted body-colored spoiler adds to the overall sporty essence of the car.
Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Ride & Handling
This is the strongest aspect of the Ford Fiesta, as it has given the godlike reputation to this car unlike any other offering in this category. The Fiesta comes with Macpherson struts with stabilizer at the front and a twisted beam at the rear, which are set on a stiffer side to give it excellent agility and stability while on the go. The downside to it is slightly harsh ride quality, but that too is felt only when the roads get really bad. The disc brake setup all around work phenomenal as well.
Ford Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Ford Fiesta has always been known for its set of powerful engines, and this one is no different. Matching the true sporty persona of the Fiesta is its two petrol engine options. The more conventional 1.5-litre petrol motor develops a maximum power output of 112 PS and a peak torque output of 140 Nm. On the other hand, the more technically rich 1.0-litre turbocharged Ecoboost petrol engine churns out a 125 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Both the engines get a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard, with the option of a 5-speed manual on the bigger 1.5-litre unit. In comparison, it is the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which feels more energetic with its incredible power delivery.
Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Braking & Safety
Despite being the most affordable Ford product targeted at a cost-conscious segment, the Ford Fiesta packs in some really appreciable safety features which are not available even in some cars from a segment above. The list of safety features in the Fiesta consist of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Launch Assist, keyless entry and reverse parking sensors.
Ford Fiesta Hatchback (2010-2019) Verdict
Compared to its Japanese rivals, the Fiesta might fall short on crucial areas such as novelty feel within the cabin and interior space. However, crank up the engine, and it is where the real magic of the Fiesta begins. The amazing performance from both the engines, along with stiff suspension and precise steering make it a driver’s delight. Yes, the all-new generation Ford Fiesta might soon replace this current avatar. However, this particular Fiesta still makes you feel young at heart with its sporty styling and character.
