  • About Isuzu Philippines

    Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is a subsidiary of the Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer Isuzu Motors with its base of operations headquartered in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines. The company was formed on August 7, 1995, with an initial investment of ₱1,000,000.000. 

    In the current time frame, the company operates as a joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, each holding 35% of the total shares. The other stakeholders include the Ayala Corporation and the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation at 30%. The company's current president is Hajime Koso, replacing Nobuo Izumina.

    Coming to its initial production lineup, in 1996, the Isuzu brand began its production with the Hilander, the N-Series, and the Forward. These models still dominate the model range in the revised form. In 1997, the Fuego was introduced and became very popular. A year later came the Trooper. In late 2003 the D-Max was unveiled, and in 2005 followed its sport utility vehicle variant, the Alterra. 

    It was in 2007 when the company offered the Isuzu NHR-PV as a production model. The NHR-PV is a 17-seater bus, which is built on the N-Series' chassis. On 18 September 2013, Isuzu Philippines debuted the second-generation D-Max, almost exactly ten years after the unveiling of the original in November 2003. The D-Max is to be built at Isuzu's Laguna plant but will be imported from the main factory in Thailand first.

    For its widespread run of over two decades, IPC recently celebrated its 20th-year Inaugural Anniversary. The major highlights of the events were the launch of Euro 4 Compliant D-MAX and mu-X (All-new Isuzu mu-X), launch of Euro IV and V Compliant N- Series, F-Series, and C&E Series Trucks. Lastly, IPC also introduced the limited edition mu-X, D-MAX and Crosswind, the mu-X Black Series, D-MAX X-Series, and Crosswind Black Series

    Apart from its car’s production, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), is also the country’s leading assembler and distributor of brand-new trucks, turned over 11 EXZ QL trucks. The brand provided these trucks to Acro Transport and Logistics Network, one of the country’s biggest distribution companies.

    Based on the sales report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA), IPC recorded an impressive 30,086 units of sales in the full year of 2017, which reflected a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year’s 27,361 units. On a separate report, IPC achieved its highest monthly sales record when December sales reached 3,809 units, a 7.4 percent difference over its November 2017 sales record.
