Lincoln Navigator Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
One of the most majestic and luxurious SUVs on sale in the Philippines, the Lincoln Navigator is an iconic nameplate from the United States of America. The SUV has been known for its immense appeal in and out and the commendable road presence it has even on the standstill. The Philippines market receives the Lincoln Navigator through the CBU route and is offered with a wide range of customization options that can be ordered online.
Lincoln Navigator Interior & Features
Step into the cabin of the Lincoln Navigator, and be prepared to be amazed by how classy the overall cabin looks. The entire cabin is available in four different upholstery options of Cappucino, Slate Grey, Ebony, and Ebony/Russet, and in all of them, you get a different shade of leather, wood, and aluminium inlays to give you a personalized experience.
In this latest iteration, the dashboard of the SUV looks very futuristic with the full TFT 12-inch instrument console and a free-mounted 10-inch infotainment system. The chrome touches to the dashboard surround, door handles, switches and centre console add to the elegance of the cabin. The slanted design for the lower part of the centre console, which accommodates the old-school buttons for climate control makes it look premium. What is a unique touch here is the slim-looking switches for the transmission, which are neatly integrated into the middle of the centre console.
The cabin is properly equipped with a host of premium features like power-adjustable memory settings for driver’s seat, steering wheel, rearview mirrors, and foot pedals, three-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents with individual controls, LED ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, LED entertainment screen for rear passengers, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charger, heated and ventilated seats, 14-speaker Revel audio system, and many more.
Navigator Exterior
One word which best describes the exterior appearance of the Lincoln Navigator is ‘classy’. This flagship SUV from Lincoln possesses an understated elegance in its exterior design, which makes it look calm and suave despite its massive dimensions. Adding to it, the same massive dimensions do give it an unmistakable road presence.
At the front, the Lincoln Navigator welcomes you with its huge grille which is curved from its upper edge and is finished in chrome with a vertically laid Lincoln logo in the middle. The headlamps housing the bi-beam LED projector headlamps and daytime running LED at their bottom has the same rounded blocky appearance as that of the grille. The front bumper goes well with the comprehensive front fascia, which neatly integrates the LED fog lamps.
The aspect which highlights the road presence of the Lincoln Navigator the most is its stretched length when viewed sideways. The large side window panels with wraparound chrome shoulder line, with additional chrome, touches on the door handles, front fenders and bottom portion of the door panels give it a premium touch.
At the rear of the Lincoln Navigator, you simply can’t miss the tail lamp assembly which looks huge and also includes an LED light bar spread across its width joining the LED tail lamps. Apart from the lower edge of the rear windscreen, there is an additional chrome finish just above the central light bar above the license plate housing, which adds a wholesome look to the otherwise simple design for the boot lid.
The Lincoln Navigator is available in nine exterior paint shades, namely Signature Navy, Flight Blue, Infinite Black, Burgundy Velvet, Green Gem, Asher Grey, Silver Radiance, Ceramic Pearl, and Pristine White.
Lincoln Navigator Ride & Handling
The Lincoln Navigator might have a boxy appearance, but the driving and chauffeur-driven experiences are a class apart. The SUV comes with adaptive suspension and five drive modes – Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery and Deep Conditions, which make this SUV is capable to be driven comfortably, irrespective of the type of terrain.
Navigator Engine & Fuel Consumption
Under the hood, the Lincoln Navigator gets a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which is one of the most powerful engines ever made for an SUV. Available with a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard, the engine puts up 450 bhp of maximum power and 691 Nm of maximum torque. Power is channeled to all four wheels via a standard four-wheel-drive system.
Lincoln Navigator Braking & Safety
This premium SUV is stuffed with all the modern safety amenities like automatic high beams, blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, trailer coverage lane-keep assists, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking including pedestrian detection, forward collision, and dynamic brake support, 360-degree parking camera, enhanced active park assist with park out assist, front and reverse parking sensors, hill descent control, rain-sensing wipers, tire pressure monitoring system and front, side, curtain and knee airbags.
Navigator Verdict
The Lincoln Navigator is expensive to buy, and even more difficult to maintain in the long run due to expensive spare parts and limited after-sales support in the Philippines. However, for the incredible amount of luxury it packs in, the SUV is worth every penny spent on it.
