Introduction:
The captivating saga of the much acclaimed 911 series is continued with the introduction of 911 Targa 4, which is a perfect blend of Porsche DNA and explicit features. First introduced in 1965, the two door coupe has been a desirable car for many customers across the globe and since then it holds a significant market share in different geographies. The latest generation has taken further raised the standards that will help the company in enhancing its market presence in Philippines.
Engine, mileage & variants:
The 911 Targa 4 is fuelled with a potent 3.4 litre V6 engine which churns out a maximum power of 350 hp at 7400 rpm along with the maximum torque of 390 Nm at 5600 rpm. Whereas, the 3.8 litre V6 engine further raises the power output of this speed machine as the maximum power measures 400 to 430 hp at 7400 to 7500 rpm while the maximum torque measures 440 Nm at 5600 rpm. Targa 4 keeps the legacy of Porsche well intact, as clocking 100 kmph mark from naught will take a fascinating time span of 4.0 to 5.0 seconds depending on the engine. The VarioCam Plus Technology and the direct fuel injection system work in harmonics to deliver a superior fuel economy. The mileage across all the variants ranges from 8 kmpl to 12.2 kmpl.
Exteriors:
The sloping dynamic roof lines, accentuated front as well as rear wings and big round headlamps in front results in the captivating style of the Targa 4. At the rear the crisp, precise and clean lines along with slim LED tail lights further accentuates the overall exterior design in an effective manner. The overall dimensions of the car measure 4491 mm X 1852 mm X 1298 mm (L X W X H) and the wheelbase measures 2450 mm that results in optimal stability at high speeds. One can avail from any of the four tyre sizes measuring 235/40 R19, 285/ 35 R19, 295/ 30 R20 and 305/ 30 R20 which gives better road hugging experience along with enhanced sporty side profile.
Interiors
The Motorsport styling is effectively reflected with classic and high quality equipment to fuel the adrenaline in the occupants. The five round instruments with rev counter in the middle, the 4.6 inch colour screen with navigation instructions and the adaptive cruise control function improves the score on the comfort scale in a significant manner. Besides that, the optional Bose Surround Sound System is available which comes with 12 high power loudspeakers and a 100 Watt subwoofer the combined effect of which gives an enhanced acoustic experience. On the practicality front the Targa 4 will not impress an individual much but the boot space measuring 145 litres is quite fair for the segment in which it is placed.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:
The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes work collaboratively with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution System (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA) that further improves the braking and safety of the vehicle. The advanced Porsche Stability Management system (PSM) equipped in the new 911 Targa 4 maintains stability even at the limit of dynamic driving performance. The sensors deployed monitors the speed, yaw velocity, lateral acceleration and direction and adapts effective methodology to keep them in control. In addition to this the full size airbags work in dual stage, Porsche Side Impact Protection System and Anti Theft Protection further adds to the safety of the vehicle.
