  • About Tesla Philippines

Tesla, the renowned American electric vehicle company, recently set foot in the Philippines. The automaker’s arrival perfectly aligns with the country’s push towards sustainability. Further, as a bonus point, Filipinos will get access to Tesla’s advanced, cutting-edge technology in the automobile industry.

In early November 2024, Tesla opened its flagship showroom in the Philippines. Called the Tesla Experience Centre, the facility is located at Uptown Parade in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and offers several services, including - sales, after-sales services, and customer support. In addition, The brand has also launched the Tesla Design Studio, where consumers can customize their beloved Tesla according to preferences, this includes customization of the exterior, interior, and even features.

In the future, the brand plans to open more showrooms and service centers in the Philippines, especially in key cities, to cater to the growing demand for its vehicles.

Coming to the Tesla Philippines model lineup, upon its arrival, the automaker greeted the country with two amazing models - Model Y and Model 3.

The Tesla Model Y is a versatile crossover SUV that can seat five passengers comfortably and comes with over 2,100 liters of cargo space. Adding to its credit is its ‘world’s best-selling vehicle in 2023’ with approximately 1.22 million units sold globally. In the local market, the Model Y is offered in three trim options - Rear-Wheel Drive (at PHP 2,369k), Long Range (at PHP 1,689k), and Performance (at PHP 3,299k).

The Tesla Model 3, on the other hand, is a sleek and stylish sedan known for its brilliant performance figures. Like the Model Y, it is also available in three variant options - Rear-Wheel Drive (at PHP 2,109k), Long Range (at PHP 2,489k), and Performance (at PHP 3,099k). Just to give an idea about its performance, the Model 3 Performance trim goes from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.1 seconds.

What about charging infrastructure? Being an EV manufacturer, a robust charging network is a must for Tesla, and therefore, it plans to install Supercharger stations across the country. Its first charging station will be located at Uptown Mall and will feature four Superchargers with up to 250 kW of power. All thanks to these charging units, cars like Model Y can have up to 120 km of range in just 5 minutes. Price? Tesla Philippines is offering the service on a pay-per-use basis, providing owners with an exceptional charging experience at PHP 19 per kWh (a full charge approximately costs PHP 1,140).

To celebrate its arrival and make its models more accessible to the public, Tesla Philippines introduced the Model Y and Model 3 at comparable prices. Furthermore, the automaker also offers flexible financing options wherein the interest rate is as low as 22.88% for 5 years (by Tesal preferred financial institutions) after a 20% down payment.

As Tesla is fairly new in the Philippines, with its operations commencing in late 2024, we do not have comprehensive sales data yet. However, seeing the favorable initial response coupled with the government’s incentives, the company’s strategic pricing, and the shift toward sustainability put Tesla in a good spot.
