    Ducati Diavel Review 2024

The Diavel is one of the most spectacular bikes from the Italian manufacturer, Ducati, which made its debut in November 2010. This is the second cruiser bike after Indiana and features an unconventional design language. The manufacturer has offered it with an outstanding body structure with an appreciable performance which makes it one of the toughest and sporty cruiser motorcycles. The bike is also marketed with the tagline, “Evil, like the Devil” and this is mainly due to its unique design language. The aim behind developing the Diavel was to come up with a muscular silhouette in its respective segment, which was fulfilled by 2010. Currently, in its second-generation, the bike is one of the best-sellers for the manufacturer in various markets. Filipinos that demand something different and impressive in the cruiser segment are attracted by Diavel, which has resulted in an improved demand of this Devilish bike.

    Ducati Diavel Design

Diavel has a design which one can either love it or hate it but, definitely cannot ignore it. At the first glance, its low-slung saddle, slightly raised handlebars, and chunky fuel tank indicate that it is a cruiser with a unique appeal. The front section of the bike is blessed with quadrilateral headlamp along with LED positioning lights. There is no rear fender in the bike that gives it a marvelous look. Unlike most of the cruiser bikes, the front wheel of the bike is placed close to the bike’s body. The lateral radiators add muscle to the overall silhouette while the optimum use of carbon fiber on the tank panels, passenger seat cover and front mudguard helps in reducing the weight of the body to a great extent. The rear profile is more of a sportbike-like while the big chunky tyre resembles with heavy duty cruisers. The true DNA of Diavel is also reflected by the twin vertical LED taillight that also adds a unique character to the overall profile. The instrument cluster is a combination of two LCD screens positioned at the handlebar and the fuel tank. The handlebar unit reflects speed, rpm, coolant temperature, and time while the tank mounted unit reads out the current gear, air temperature, battery voltage, trip meters, fuel economy and riding mode.

    Diavel Engine & Fuel Consumption

Diavel is being evolved fabulously with the Ducati Testastretta 11° dual spark and liquid cooled, 1198.4cc engine. Ducati's Testastretta 11° DS traps the extensive capacity of the superbike engine making it effortless, continuous and delightful during the ride. It generates maximum power of 159 hp at 9,500 rpm and peak torque of 127 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Diavel returns a fuel efficiency of 10-12 kmpl in real conditions while reaching 0-100 kmph mark takes around 4 seconds. The bike has a bore x stroke ratio of 106 x 679 mm and the compression ratio of 12.5:1. Besides this, it features electronic fuel injection that helps to deliver superb power, throughout the rev range.

    Ducati Diavel Braking & Safety

With such immense power outputs available at the twist of a throttle, the Diavel is totally worthy of some exceptional safety kit on offer. As a result, the Italian bike manufacturer has equipped the Diavel with different riding modes, power modes, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). The braking system further features a 320 mm dual disc brake along with Brembo four-piston caliper at the front, while the rear wheel gets a 265 mm single disc brake along with twin-piston calipers. Both the wheels are wrapped with an extremely sticky set of Pirelli DiabloRosso II rubber, that helps the rider to attack corners with ease. The motorcycle is also fitted with Marzocchi branded fully adjustable 50mm upside down forks at the front and fully adjustable mono shock with progressive linkage at the rear, in order to offer a stress-free and comfortable ride to the rider. The low recessed seat is quite comfortable positioned at 770 mm and works well for both, short and tall riders in an efficient manner.
