KTM 1290 Super Adventure R

The first thing that can be said about the new KTM 1290 Super Adventure R is the new bodywork, chassis, and refined ergonomics of the bike. The bike gets new bodywork with a lowered seat height and a lowered fuel tank which has greatly improved the weight distribution. The frame revision has also made the bike much easier to handle and control especially on off-road tracks and tough riding conditions. 

The bike gets a new one-piece stepped seat with an improved handlebar position offering a more comfortable and confident riding experience. The great ergonomics along with a very comfortable posture makes it a pretty good road-based adventure package. 

The riding quality of the bike is simply exceptional with everything done perfectly by KTM to make it a highly capable and yet very practical heavyweight adventure bike. The bike is smooth to handle and the steering damper makes for better stability and control. 

The seven-inch TFT display is scratch-resistant and tilt-angle adjustable and is extremely intuitive, making for a convenient ride experience. The six-way switch cube on the handlebar, as well as the ‘Quick Select’ and ‘Favorites’ buttons enable easier navigation with other features like Bluetooth connectivity. 

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R features a super powerful and very refined 1301cc, liquid-cooled LC8 V-twin engine. It is capable of producing maximum power of 159 hp at 8750 rpm maximum and a peak torque of 138 Nm at 6750 rpm. The bike can hit a top speed of 162 kmph and that is pretty effortless for the redesigned engine. 

The bike has a mileage of about 25 kmpl. The curb weight of the bike is approximately 215 kg with a fuel tank capacity of 23 liters, which is pretty impressive considering the new split design for the tank. 

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R brings a package of exciting performance, great comfort, superior ride quality, and with all that it offers optimum safety and commendable braking capabilities. Disc brakes on both wheels along with cornering ABS offers great and stable braking capabilities.
