Kymco Super 8 150 E3 Regular

The sportiness of the design is the key factor that elevates the visual appeal of the Super 8 150 E3 Regular. It sure is a scooter, but has the ingredients of a sports bike, in terms of how it looks. Starting up front, the apron stacks the large, modern, integrated headlamps below which the two turn indicators sit. The rear view mirrors sit on top of the handlebar, which is of a decent length. The single, slightly contoured seat is wide enough to provide comfortable seating to both the rider and the pillion. The tail features a metal grab rail, tail lamp, and turn indicators. The vibrant colour schemes also add to the charm of the scooter. Besides the theme colours, one can spot dashes of grey and black here and there. The alloy wheels are also done in black, which matches the overall theme of the scooter. The double adjustable suspensions at the rear are also painted distinctively to splash more colours. Kymco has fitted an analogue instrument console on to the Super 8 150 E3 Regular that displays information through a speedometer, trip meter, and a fuel gauge.

The scooter is 2030 mm long, 745 mm wide and 1140 mm high. The wheelbase of the scooter is 1340 mm and its dry weight is 123 kgs. This makes it very easy for the riders to maneuver the scooter around town as the scooter offers nimble handling. Braking is done using a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Suspension setup comprises of conventional telescopic front forks and double swing at the rear, which do away with the road bumps, potholes etc. The large 14-inch alloy wheels also add to the riding experience of the scooter. They are wrapped in tubeless radial tyres - 120/70 at the front and 120/80 at the rear.

The Super 8 150 gets power from a 149.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC engine that is capable of generating max power of 10.6PS at 7,500rpm and 10.7Nm at 5,500rpm. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels using the trusted CVT transmission setup of Kymco. The engine is punchier, torquier and delivers excellent performance while driving through city traffic as well as on long routes. There’s an electric start option available to get the engine running, along with the traditional kick start option. The fuel tank capacity of the scooter is 6-litre, which comes in handy when you’re cruising by long routes.

There is only a front disc brake which is kind of a drawback at the safety front. A rear disc brake would have been a useful addition. ABS is also missing, which again is a useful safety feature. The large radial tyres along with the alloy wheels provide a good road grip and reduce the chances of skidding, especially on a wet or slippery surface.
