  • About MV Agusta Philippines

An Italian motorcycle brand, known for its sporty design and special riding features, MV Agusta or Meccanica Verghera Agusta was founded in 1945. The term Meccanica stands for mechanic and Verghera is the town where the first MV motorcycles were made.

The company has been a brand, significant for its motorcycles and was established by the Agusta brothers by the dawn of Second World War. The company was not always meant to be a motorcycle brand but was set as a spin-off of the Agusta Aviation company led by their father.

MV Agusta’s first prototype unit was called the “Vespa 98” in 1945. The motorcycle had its name due to the power and displacement it had to offer. Soon enough, the company also introduced the market to a wide range of small-displacement, cafe racer-style motorcycles, raging through the time period of the 1950s and 1960s.

At the time of its manufacturing, the brand made its name for producing 125cc to 150cc motorcycles until MV Agusta tapped into bigger displacements when sales began to drop. This marked the beginning of the brand’s start-up which began as an Italian motorcycle manufacturer that began its movement by taking participation in tracks and evolvement in the tracks.

The company’s first big accomplishment was winning the Italian Grand Prix with the help of their 125cc two-stroke motorcycle, rode by their rider Franco Bertoni. It was the winning at Grad Prix that gave the MV brand, recognition on a global scale.

The brand made its impact in the Philippines in early 2013, however, the Italian motorcycle failed to make its impact in the Philipino market. MV Augusta later re-launched itself in the market in the month of April 2019. The “rebirth” included a new partnership with local distributor Motostrada.

Today, MV Agusta is widely known for its beautiful motorcycles in the larger displacement class. Its current offerings in the Philippines are the Brutale 800, F4 100, F3 800 and 365, Turismo Veloce 800, and Dragster 800.

    • Makes long rides addictive, responsive engine

The MV Agusta Superveloce instantly attracts attention. Drivers slow down beside me, and everyone around me gets curious about it. The riding experience has lived up to the hype. The triple engine is very responsive at low to mid RPMs. It offers good feedback and never feels temperamental or jerky. In city traffic, this bike is far more manageable than

    • Thrilling on open roads, tough in traffic

Riding the MV-Agusta F3 800 in the city can be tedious, especially with its aggressive gearing and loud exhaust note, but that is part of its true sports machine character. Once I get away from traffic and hit the countryside, the way this bike performs is something that is hard to explain. The riding modes have proven to be a

    • Eager engine performance, visually compact front-end design

With the Turismo Veloce, MV Agusta has made a bold attempt to step into the adventure-touring segment. What struck me was how this motorcycle blends long-distance capability with athleticism. Even at low speeds, the engine feels eager. The thing that slightly threw me off was its front design; it felt too compact in comparison to the powerful, bold rear and

    • Fit and finish match its price tag

The MV Agusta Brutale 800 has proven to be my ideal partner for city explorations. In all the scenarios, this two-wheeler excels. Low-speed maneuvering is quite easy, irrespective of the aggressive stance of this bike. The brakes are quite good, and even in sudden-stop situations, they inspire confidence. The fit and finish of this bike match its price tag, something
