Suzuki Smash 115 Design
Inspired by the GSX-R, the new Smash features racing-inspired front fascia, which attracts a lot of youngsters. The wide bold light and wide stance of the bike is something which is appreciated by the customers while the sports watch inspired speedometer with gear position indicator further gives a sporty feel to the rider. Though the company claims that the Smash is inspired by sports bike, the overall design is not very sporty and stylish. Having a plain jane design, Suzuki could have done better to augment its appeal in the segment. The rear features combination lamp with multi-polygon reflector and turn indicator.
The use of graphics on the front and side plays a little role in reflecting the bold image of the underbone. For users who prefer a sober ride, the Suzuki Smash is sure to please them. The little bike also scores decent on utility aspect and offers 8-litre storage compartment under the seat, which might not carry your full face helmet but can carry your little knick-knacks easily. Suzuki has also focused on small details and has now equipped the vehicle with the smart theft protection magnetic key shutter. You get three color options with the all-new Smash - Black, Pearl Mirage White and Candy Summer Red.
Smash 115 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the all-new Smash is an 115cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that delivers 6.4kW maximum power at 8,000 rpm, which is decent enough for your daily city rides. The majority of the changes done in the engine are focused towards improving the fuel efficiency of the bike; looking at the finished product, the company’s efforts have certainly paid off. It now delivers a mileage ranging between 45-47 kmpl and this range is due to the company’s new ‘Pulsed Secondary Air Injection System’. The particular system not only assists in improved fuel efficiency, it also helps lower emissions.
The power delivery is much more refined in the new engine and a rider will not experience vibrations until a speed mark of 60 kmph. Pushing the engine further will give you little vibes but, that will be easily managed till you reach 70 kmph mark.
Suzuki Smash 115 Braking & Safety
For braking, Suzuki has equipped its Smash with drum brakes at both the ends and here we feel that Suzuki should have upgraded the new Smash with disc brakes to match the segment standards. It has been refreshed with a new chassis which offers better maneuverability over the previous model. The introduction of a Diamond-Type frame was done to make Smash a better handler and the Japanese automaker has been successful in doing so.
The lower seat height makes way for comfortable riding position and light handle further gives better control to the rider. With 1,240 mm wheelbase, the all-new Smash 115 offers user-friendly riding experience and firm control in different riding conditions. The bike is one of the lightest in the segment and certainly practical enough to give you a comfortable experience in your day-to-day commutes.
