Recent Updates of SV 650A
Suzuki’s SV range of middleweight naked street bikes have been well known as a very versatile and affordable bike that served the needs of entry-level learners and experienced commuters around the world. A used SV 650 is still the most easily recommendable bike for any beginner rider. Suzuki has gone back to the original SV 650 with this model. The minimalist design suits the naked streetbike very well with its classic headlight and exposed trellis frame. The ergonomics are a bit sportier too. The 90 degree 645cc V-Twin is a rare engine in this class that delivers increased power over its predecessor which pushed out 74 hp and 64 Nm of torque. The transmission is six-speed. The suspension is provided by Showa and brakes are provided by Nissin and Tokico. The many changes still, however, preserve the original bike’s learner-friendly nature. Suzuki SV 650A Review 2024
The Suzuki SV650A is an amazing naked street motorcycle in the middleweight segment of the Philippines market. It was first showcased at the Inside Racing Bike Fest. It features a very powerful engine and is the aptest bike for both long distances commuting as well as city cruising. It is built on a very rigid chassis, which is made of the high-strength steel frame. It also exhibits an amazing design that would delight everyone among the on-lookers while you ride through the busy traffic. It is a direct competitor to the likes of the Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650F. However, it is a much more affordable alternative to the Honda model and goes up for around Php 399,000.
Suzuki SV 650A Design
Styling-wise, the Suzuki SV650A is a muscular-looking motorcycle in the segment. It has a chunky front end to complement the chiselled rear zone. The headlamps get the conventional round design which is encircled in a thin strip of chrome. The turn indicators are placed higher besides the headlights.
It is built on a steel frame with the trellis outlook that provides great rigidity. The fuel tank is slightly sculpted and has the company’s logo on the sides. Moreover, to get the racy look on, there is a racing stripe that passes along the length of the fuel tank.
It has a single seat cluster instead of the dual stepped, which offer better comfort for the pillion. The instrument console is an all-digital unit, similar to what Suzuki is known for. It provides a lot of information, including gear position indicator, clock, tachometer bar and fuel range.
SV 650A Ride & Handling
Not much can be said about the ride and handling prowess of the Suzuki SV650A. The bike offers the look and feel of a sporty middleweight where the throttle is very responsive and shoots at the word go. Plus, the riding on the throttle can be effortless with the presence of Low RPM Assist Control. It is something amazing to have on a sporty bike that is equally amazing while cruising on the highways too.
This feature helps the rider to pull effortlessly even from a very low rev range on the tachometer while being on a high gear position. All of this is well teamed up with a really amazing suspension setup. A typical Suzuki thing, both the front telescopic fork and the rear Link type coil springs are oil damped. They offer apt cushioning while hitting the corners on the open roads or commuting in normal city traffic. It has a high kerb weight of 195 kilograms, which helps in keeping the stability factor on the roads high.
Suzuki SV 650A Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Suzuki SV650A has its engine prowess imbibed in its name where “SV” stands for “Sporty V-Twin”. And just as the name suggests, the motorcycle comes with a two-cylinder setup, each having four valves for better performance. The motor gets the liquid cooling technology and the fuel-injection delivery system.
The engine is capable of delivering high power at high rev range but has a solid low and mid-range punch too. Plus, it has a huge fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres, which offers a really long riding range if you are frequent on long trips on the expressways.
SV 650A Braking & Safety
The Suzuki SV650A has tremendous braking power. All of this stopping power comes from disc brakes on both the wheels. However, it would be even more exciting to know that the front wheel has dual disc brakes that are apt for the kind of power the engine supplies.
And while going on high speeds, the stability and road grip is always optimum, thanks to the thick and sticky tyres. The front wheel gets 120 mm rubber while the rear has a very thick 160 mm wrapping on the 17-inch wheels.
Suzuki SV 650A Verdict
The Suzuki SV650A is one of the most amazing middleweight naked street motorcycles in the Philippines market and comes at a competitive price tag too. It is an awesome performer on the long roads and has a very rigid frame. Plus, being more affordable than some of the motorcycles in the segment makes it highly preferable.
