A versatile motorcycle

Yamaha XSR700 is not the best finished, advanced, or sportiest bike on the retro market, but in terms of money, you'd be hard stretched to get anything better. The seating position is casual and upright, and the seat and pegs are right where I want them to be for all-around rural, suburban, and urban riding. The transmission is excellent, but the clutch falls behind as it has neither slipper nor assist functions. The suspension system absorbs the bumps well, but the shock has no damping adjustment.
