TATA LPT 613 Interior & Features
While the exterior styling of the Tata LPT 613 is nothing to talk much about, the interior cabin looks even duller with a very basic looking layout and lack of features giving it a bare-bones appeal.
Like the exterior has a lot of rectangular-shaped bits, the interior cabin is dominated by trapezoidal-shaped bits. This is quite evident from the way the dashboard has been laid out, with a large trapezoidal panel covering most of the part of the dashboard. This panel houses rectangular shaped dials for the instrument console, the right of which is a black console housing various switches for various functions. There is another trapezoidal panel beside it in the same housing, which consists of a basic audio system with radio compatibility.
This doesn’t end here as even the broad looking separation between the front seats has trapezoidal shaped cubby holes to store small things aside, behind which there is the long gear level mounted. The two spoke steering wheel is large and has tilt-adjustable functionality.
LPT 613 Exterior
The Tata LPT 613 has been designed by keeping the theme of function over form, which can be sensed by the way it has been designed. The overall styling of the Tata LPT 613 looks simple to the core, with no major noteworthy design element to speak much about.
There is a lot of hint of rectangular designing when it comes to the frontal stance of the Tata LPT 613. The frontal look of the truck is divided into two parts, with the upper one having a rectangular windshield which has curved upper edges and comes with a blackened finish at the bottom where the wipers are mounted. The upper edges of the windscreen again have auxiliary lights mounted above them. Along with them, there are large rearview mirrors mounted on the sides of the windshield vertically, which make the wide looking LPT 613 appear even wider.
The lower portion of the frontal stance is divided into two parts again, with the upper one having a flat panel, with black vertical bars placed on its outer edges. On the other hand, the lower part comprises of the front grille with three horizontal black slats and rectangular headlamps as well as rectangular turn indicators on its sides, all of which are encased in a large rectangular black plastic panel. The front body coloured bumper is simple and has cavities in place of fog lamps.
TATA LPT 613 Ride & Handling
The Tata LPT 613 is fitted with heavy-duty forged I beam reverse elliot type front axle and single reduction, hypoid gears, fully floating axle shafts at the rear, which along with semi-elliptical leaf spring at front and rear with auxiliary springs make up for a sturdy setup to withstand loads up to 4.5 tonnes quite comfortably. In terms of brakes, the LPT 613 is armed with a dual circuit, full air S-Cam brakes with spring actuated parking brake on rear wheels.
LPT 613 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Tata LPT 613 comes equipped with a large 5.7-litre six-cylinder diesel engine beneath the full forward tilt cabin. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the engine here produces a maximum power output of 129 PS and a peak torque output of 419 Nm. With 36 per cent of maximum gradability in first gear, the LPT 613 has a top speed of 112 kmph.
TATA LPT 613 Braking & Safety
With a non-existent list of safety features, the Tata LPT 613 has only central locking feature in the name of safety.
LPT 613 Verdict
With a very straightforward inter cabin and exterior design as well as non-existent features, the Tata LPT 613 lacks the contemporary factor. However, with trusted and practical mechanicals under the skin and rugged chassis, the Tata LPT 613 comes out as a long-running warhorse.
