15 Hyundai HD50S units to be put to work as modern PUVs in Tacloban City
MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), through Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu, turned over 15 units of HD50S Class 2 Modern Jeepney to GC Godie, Inc. transport cooperative in Tacloban City last July 29.
The turnover ceremony was attended by key officials from national and local government. The event served as a testament to Hyundai’s growing partnerships with major transport cooperatives across the country. It was the second milestone that Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines achieved in July, following the inauguration of Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu last July 15.
“We are honored to serve communities in the Visayas, such as Tacloban City, pursuant of the government’s vision of a better, more sustainable transport system,” Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu President Edward Vincent Onglatco stated. He also assured that Hyundai will be providing first-class maintenance service for the modern PUVs as it remains to be Taclobanon’s “Partner in Every Way in the new normal.
Since 2020, HARI has been showing its support to the government’s public utility vehicle modernization program by turning over Hyundai modern PUVs to transport groups across the country. Currently, there are over a hundred eco-friendly units of HD50S serving as public transportation in major cities nationwide.
In a statement, HARI President and Chief Executive Officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said, “Aligned with Hyundai Motor’s mission to drive progress for humanity, HARI CV and our strong dealer network stands with government, the private sector, and communities to keep on carving a path toward full transport modernization, which is key to our recovery as a nation.”
