BFP continues fleet modernization as Isuzu PH turns over fire trucks, emergency vehicles
MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) provided a total of 84 fire trucks and emergency vehicles to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) last October 15.
The turnover ceremony was held at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City. The representatives and officials of IPC and BFP who attended were from JROG Marketing, guest of honor Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government Eduardo Año, and BFP Director Jose Embang Jr.
The first vehicle turnover was held last February 11 where IPC brought 74 rescue and firefighting vehicles. These represent the majority of rescue vehicles and fire trucks that the BFP needed for its initiative.
The vehicles that were handed over included five CYZ52 2,500-gallon fire trucks with aerial ladders, three FVR rescue vehicles, and 76 FVR 1,000-gallon fire trucks.
The reliable and efficient vehicles are an essential aspect of the modernization plans of BFP. These plans include offering comfort, safety, and durability to numerous local government units (LGUs) that do not have vehicles or still utilize old trucks in their fire stations.
IPC President Hajime Koso said during the turnover ceremony, “IPC continues in its mission to contribute to society and be the Filipino people’s responsible partner by providing the most durable, reliable trucks. With the Bureau of Fire Protection modernizing its equipment and vehicles, IPC and the Isuzu brand can help the BFP attain its objectives to protect and serve the country in the best way possible against fire and other calamities.”
IPC assured that the BFP will receive support regardless of the areas where the trucks will be deployed nationwide. Its 43 locations across the country provide guaranteed parts availability and exceptional after sales support.
