Fuso PH eyes to retail 1.5k units in 2025

MANILA: After seeing a successful performance in 2024, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) disclosed that it is looking to hit a sales target of around 1,500 units in 2025. Additionally, the company is gearing up to capture a larger market share of 15 percent this year. 

As a reminder, figures from the Truck Manufacturer’s Association (TMA) tallied SFP’s total 2024 sales volume at 1,351 units. With the said amount of units rolled out, the brand managed to gain a market share of 13.2 percent - an improvement over its 2023 market share of 9.9 percent.

To note, TMA’s report also showed that SFP was one of the few truck brands that reflected positive growth in 2024. It likewise gained the said accolade despite the overall local truck market’s dismal one percent growth last year. 

One potential future growth driver for the company is the upcoming fully-electric Fuso eCanter truck, which it says will be launched locally in a few months.

No exact date was shared, but the model promises to be a highly efficient logistics platform that provides safety and comfort for its operators. 

Based on the Japanese version of the Fuso eCanter, which was previously shown off by SFP in Laguna, it will have the following features:

• Fabric seats
• Keyless entry
• 10-inch liquid crystal display
• Built-in navigation system
• USB ports
• Advanced driver-assist systems

The Japanese-spec L variant of the eCanter also boasts a 124-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a total output of 172 horsepower, and an estimated range of 324 kilometers.
