On that note, Hino has been submitting quarterly reports to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism to ensure that the said problem will not happen again.
For its fourth quarter report, Hino said that it is reforming the company’s organizational climate by “promoting the interactive communication between executives and employees, and encouraging younger employees and regional offices to work on activities proactively.”
Further, Hino noted that it is constantly reviewing the measures for preventing recurrence and implementing them thoroughly, to carry out processes for type approval properly.
“We are committed to preventing the recurrence of engine certification-related misconduct that caused significant inconvenience to all stakeholders, including customers through the implementation of these reforms. Management will continue to take the initiative to effectuate the measures set forth in the Recurrence Prevention Report to prevent such recurrence,” Hino said in a press statement.
