Hyundai CVs achieve 200% growth in 2021

MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) maintained a good position in the Philippine commercial vehicle (CV) segment by the end of 2021. 

Hyundai CVs captured 8.8% of the overall market share and achieved the highest overall growth at 206.9% compared to 2020, landing the brand in fourth place in the industry, HARI said in a release. 

The entire CV industry grew by 26.2%, or an additional 2,218 units versus last year with reported sales reaching 10,668 units, the company added. 

In the bus segment, the Hyundai County accounted for a major share of sales at 68.5%. The County is part of the bus weight category of six to nine tons. 

"The County remains one of Hyundai’s best-selling bus models in the country, winning the trust of private and government establishments for its efficiency, durability, and versatility as a people mover," HARI expressed. 

The County serves as a mobile vaccination clinic in Hyundai’s Vaccine on Wheels (VOW) Program, "supporting the national agenda for the safe and efficient rollout of vaccines."

Hyundai CV’s growth is likewise shored up by the remarkable sales of its roster of trucks and buses, such as the Hyundai MedTRX refrigerated truck series, the Xcient, Universe, and the HD50S and HD48 GT modern public utility vehicles.
