MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), through authorized dealer Hyundai Trucks and Buses Commonwealth, turned over 32 units of the HD50S Modern PUV Class 2 to NOVADECI Transport Service Cooperative (NTSC), a subsidiary cooperative of the Novaliches Development Cooperative (NOVADECI). This formalizes the cooperative’s commitment to contribute to the nation’s agenda in improving public transport services for the commuters.

With this, the drivers will not only earn more income, but we can also ensure that the environment is protected. Because of this, we believe that the new jeepney units will be good for long-term use).”

    NOVADECI Board of Directors Chair Leonisa Fausto expressed her gratitude to Hyundai and other partners for their support in the project. She hopes that this will inspire not only the members of NOVADECI, but also the entire transportation sector in the Philippines.

    Hyundai Trucks and Buses Commonwealth assured NOVADECI of its commitment to provide outstanding service to preserve the roadworthiness of the modern PUV units and to extend support that showcases the brand’s determination to be a “partner in every way.”

    HARI President and Chief Executive Officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo acknowledged this latest initiative in the company’s commitment to revitalize the country’s transport sector, saying, “Hyundai shall continue to take steps to help shape the future of mobility in the Philippines that shall move more people, especially our healthcare and economic frontliners, toward more opportunities that shall help enrich their livelihood and contribute to the greater agenda of economic stability.”

    With the recent launch of the HD48 GT Modern PUV, HARI is confident that this new addition to their lineup of people movers will build on Hyundai’s current success in the transport sector. Since the announcement of its intention to support the government’s PUV Modernization Program in 2017, HARI has seen a significant increase in market share in the commercial vehicle industry, thanks to transport cooperatives that considered Hyundai as their preferred PUV brand.

    HARI was able to sell over 200 units of Modern PUVs to various transportation cooperatives around the country this year, assisting in the advancement of mass mobility programs in Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Cavite, Bulacan, and Tacloban, to name a few. Hyundai’s Modern PUV sales grew by 715.8% in the first nine months of 2021 versus the same period last year, capturing 10.8% market share in the CAT III (3T-6T category).
