Hyundai PH turns over 30 modern jeepneys to Tarlac province
MANILA: Last February 4, 2021, Hyundai Asia Resources, Incorporated (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai buses and trucks in the Philippines, leveled up its transport modernization efforts in the province of Tarlac.
Through Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cabanatuan, 30 units of the Hyundai HD50S Class-2 Modern Jeepney were handed over to the Tarlac-Moncada-Gerona-Paniqui (Tamogepa) Transport Service Cooperative, Inc., considered to be a primary transport organization in Central Luzon for the past 36 years.
Forty-five more units of the HD50S Class-2 Modern Jeepneys will be delivered within the year.
The Director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) of Region 3 Ahmed G. Cuizon attended the turnover ceremony.
He emphasized the significance of the continuous modernization of our mass transport system to boost the dignity of Filipino commuters, contribute to social development, and augment the livelihood of transport cooperatives and public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers.
Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cabanatuan, headed by President Dennis San Juan, explained that the dealership is committed towards transport modernization in this particular area through the provision of complete after-sales and other necessary aid to retain the roadworthiness and quality of Hyundai Modern Jeepneys.
As an ideal approach to highlight the importance of road safety in the new normal, Tarlac City Highway Patrol Group Team Leader Police Major Jonathan Victor Olveña also gave valuable tips on how to maintain safety among road users, drivers, and fellow passengers during regular commute.
The strong presence of Hyundai in Tarlac through the HD50S Modern Jeepney Class 2 is perceived as a positive indication of the region’s efforts towards improving mobility and revitalizing the economy despite the challenges associated with the new normal.
The HD50S Modern Jeepney is powered by a 2.9-liter Euro 4-compliant CRDi diesel engine that offers cleaner emissions, greater dependability, and higher fuel efficiency. It is engineered for improved power-to-weight ratio and stability, aside from having a 3,415-millimeter wheelbase.
The HD50S Modern Jeepney is fully equipped with a speed limit warning buzzer, a seven-inch monitor, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, GPS tracking, WiFi, contactless payment scheme through the Auto Fare Collection System (AFCS), and roof-mounted air-conditioning. It can seat up to 22 passengers and has ample space for 10 standing commuters.
The vehicle was able to acquire the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Certificate of Compliance (CoC) in 2019 together with the Hyundai H-100 Class-1 Modern Jeepney.
Last year, a CoC was also given to the Hyundai HD50S Class 3, which led to the completion of the Hyundai power trio of fully authorized modern jeepneys that are compliant with the Philippine National Standards (PNS).
With HARI CV Sales Head. Monch Osorio as representative, Hyundai Trucks and Buses President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo expressed her gratitude to Tamogepa for its support and trust in the Korean marque.
She was optimistic regarding the new collaboration and she believes that the initiative will aid the progress in Tarlac and the entire region.
Agudo said, “Aming hangad na sa tulong ng aming modern jeepneys, ay patuloy ninyong dugtungan ng pagmamahal at malasakit ang bawat isa, na siyang magbubukas ng maraming oportunidad para sa tuluy-tuloy na pag-asenso ng bayan ng Tarlac (We hope that through our modern jeepneys, you may extend both love and compassion to one another, which will pave the way for more opportunities for the continued progress of Tarlac).”
