Isuzu PH takes truck throne anew in 2020
MANILA: The recent joint sales report of Truck Manufacturers Association Inc. (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) showed that Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) topped all truck sales categories in 2020.
According to the report, Isuzu ranked first in Category III as the company had sold 2,322 units of the N-Series light duty trucks. This is equivalent to 53% of market share. On the other hand, Isuzu F-Series medium-duty trucks were the best sellers in Category IV. The company sold a total of 1,064 F-Series units last year, with a 38% market share. Isuzu also led Category V by selling 320 units of the C-Series and E-Series heavy-duty trucks for a 35% market share. Overall, Isuzu garnered a total commercial vehicle sales of 3,707 units for a 45.2% market share.
IPC has led the truck sales industry for 21 years and the light-duty truck sales segment for 22 years.
Despite being a newcomer, the Isuzu Traviz Cab & Chassis was able to sell 2,503 units, which recorded a 20% market share.
In a statement, IPC President Hajime Koso said, “By being the ‘responsible partner,' IPC does not just supply world-class vehicles and treat our customers as mere clients, we treat them as partners. Their growth is essential to IPC’s growth, hence, we provide total support to our customers nationwide with great products and aftersales support.”
The report also revealed a progressive sales growth of the Isuzu D-Max which sold 3,346 units, 12% higher than 2019 sales. Meanwhile, the Isuzu Mu-X ended the year with total sales of 1,681 units.
IPC is looking forward to maintaining these numbers on the new models that they will be releasing this year. “We are confident in our truck lineup, but as the demand changes and increase, IPC evolves and is ready to introduce new products that the Philippine market will love. Hopefully, these products will help boost our economy these years,” Koso added.
