Isuzu PH turns over modernized PUVs to DATSCO

MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has turned over a pair of modernized public utility vehicles (PUV) to Dauin Transport Services Cooperative (DATSCO).

Based on the Isuzu NLR77h, the modernized PUV units — with bodies created by Centro Manufacturing Corporation (CMC) — were turned over last month. Per CMC, the turnover ceremony marks a significant milestone in enhancing the public transportation system in Dauin, Negros Oriental, as part of the government's PUV modernization program.

To note, the NLR77h is powered by a 3.0-liter, four-cylinder, common-rail direct inject, Euro 4 rated Blue Power turbo diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Assuring stability while carrying heavy loads are its multi-leaf spring suspension system.

In a statement, the body-builder said that the units handed over to the clients underscored the company’s commitment in providing high-quality transportation solutions.

DATSCO Chair Gemma Tuble expressed gratitude for the delivery of units, saying that the vehicle will “improve the quality of transportation” in the community as well as “contribute to a more sustainable and efficient public transport system.”

Meanwhile, Isuzu Dumaguete’s Leah Marino said that the event serves as a testament to the dealership’s commitment to supporting the PUV modernization program. “We are proud to be a part of this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact these vehicles will have on Dauin's public transportation," she said.

For her part, CMC Senior Sales Supervisor Lotis San Jose commended the DATSCO and Isuzu Dumaguete for the launch and turnover of units. “We are proud to have played a role in this significant milestone and look forward to more successful collaborations in the future."

Lastly, IPC Department Head for Dealer Sales Mario Ojales shared that the delivery of the modernized PUV examples to DATSCO is a step towards the distributor’s mission to contribute to the country's transportation infrastructure.

"We are dedicated to providing reliable and durable vehicles that meet the evolving needs of our customers," he added.
