MPT South pushes road safety with latest ‘Drayberks’ road safety seminar

MANILA: To continue its bid to push road safety, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) has recently conducted another round of its “Drayberks” Road Safety Seminar to two transport firms.

The program was held last July 18.Last July 18, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation subsidiary organized the said seminar — themed “Alerto Kada Kilometro” — for the employees of TAS Trans Corporation and Erjohn and Almark Transit Corporation — who regularly traverse the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).
During the program, MPT South representatives highlight the expressway rules and regulations, focusing on Republic Act 2000 (also known as The Limited Access Highway Act). Meanwhile, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Traffic Education Division Information Officer and Lecturer Eric Vergara and Traffic Discipline Office-Deputation Program Unit Assistant Head Asnawi Disomimba shared information on traffic rules in the National Capital Region.
Further, attendees pledged to put on priority road safety while traversing different expressways and public road networks, ensuring the commuting public's safety and well-being.
“The ‘Alerto kada Kilometero’ Drayberks Road Safety Seminar organized by MPT South was an invaluable initiative that has equipped our drivers with crucial safety knowledge. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to improving consciousness on road safety in our transport community,” Tas Group of Companies General Manager John Benedict Santiaguel was quoted as saying.
For her part, MPT South Vice President for Communications and Stakeholder Management Arlette Capistrano vowed that the company will “continue to partner with different organizations to ensure that road safety is well communicated.”
“As our top priority, we shall relentlessly advocate and educate on the vital role that each driver plays in ensuring overall safety for themselves and others on the road,” she added.
In a statement, MPT South shared that the initiative shall continue throughout the year — targeting communities around CAVITEX and Cavite-Laguna Expressway, transport groups, and allied services.
