New Fuso modern PUVs featured at Clark Commercial Vehicle Show

MANILA: Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) took part in the Clark Commercial Vehicle Show, which was held at Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino in Clark, Pampanga last March 31 to April 1 with the theme "Transport Cooperatives Transformation towards the New Normal."

Pampanga, known as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines, offers more than just a taste of Filipino cuisine. Just a few hours away from Manila, Pampanga is a first-class and highly developed province surrounded by businesses ranging from automotive and agricultural firms to forestry. The arrival of the Fuso modern PUVs to the city, according to SFP, will assist transportation cooperatives in demonstrating an efficient and safe modern transportation system.

During the event, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri stated, “This is a very timely event, given all the issues that our public transport system is facing at the moment — from the shift to the PUV Modernization Program, the continuation of the challenges of this pandemic, and skyrocketing price of fuel all over, I am very hopeful that this congress will help us all figure out what our next steps should be moving forward in order to best support the public transport sector through these issues. To that end, we have filed the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program Act and the Transportation Cooperatives Development Loan Fund Act to enable our transport cooperatives to effectively modernize.”

This national government program is an excellent system overhaul that has the potential to completely transform the Public Land Transportation system. The Clark Commercial Vehicle Show is a perfect way to highlight the issues and concerns of transport cooperatives that support the transformation to PUV modernization as the country strives toward economic recovery.

An exhibit of the brand's new PUV was part of the event program. SFP presented the dependability and resilience of the Fuso Canter Commute (Class II) and Fuso Canter Express (Class III).
