PH Red Cross receives mobile kitchen from Isuzu
MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) took part in Philippine Red Cross-Laguna Chapter’s “Hot Meals on Wheels” mass feeding program by donating a new mobile kitchen truck.
The Isuzu mobile truck was handed over to the organization on January 8 at the Philippine Red Cross Headquarters. The turnover ceremony was attended by IPC President Hajime Koso, Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon, and Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter officials led by Frank Sorromero.
At the event, Koso stated, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, life’s emergencies don’t stop and neither does the work of Philippine Red Cross. Each day, indigent Filipinos rely on them to help prevent and lessen their suffering. Philippine Red Cross ensures that Filipino families have access to food and other basic needs in light of the heavy economic cost of the pandemic.”
The Isuzu mobile kitchen truck is structured with a mini kitchen where hot meals can be cooked and served right away wherever the feeding programs will take place. Aside from their regular feeding programs, the vehicle is also ideal for the organization’s relief operations in times of calamities.
The Isuzu truck was customized to become a mobile kitchen with the help of INTECO, headed by its President Raymond Jarina, and Truckmaster, which is led by Johnny Pronaci. The truck was ensured to be safe for distant trips and to conveniently connect to water and power supply.
IPC has been constantly partnering with Philippine Red Cross in participating in various disaster and emergency relief programs nationwide. In 2020, IPC conducted the “Kasama Mo” campaign in response to the current coronavirus disease pandemic. The Philippine Red Cross was one of the recipients of the said program. IPC also donated an Isuzu D-Max unit to the organization to help them in their relief drive for the Taal Volcano eruption last year.
The corporate social responsibility programs of IPC are part of the company’s commitment to its corporate mantra of being “Your Responsible Partner.”
