Speculation on arrival strengthened
However, a quick check on the company website boosted speculation about its local introduction.
As mentioned in one of its statements, the company said that the light-duty truck is already available in neighboring country Singapore — with the first unit there turned over to a local customer.
Per Fuso, the Singapore-retailed eCanter can be had in any of the four variants with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 5-8.55 tons. Wheelbase length ranges from 2.5-4.45 meters, and the truck can be fitted with a small, medium, or large battery with a capacity of up to 124 kilowatt-hours (kWh).
The Kawasaki-headquartered marque said that the electrified version of the Fuso Canter can be fully charged overnight using a regular outlet, or in under two hours with a fast charger.
Further, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Karl Deppen mentioned that the eCanter is “expected to satisfy the various demands of customers in Singapore, just as it has been doing in 38 markets worldwide.”
The Fuso eCanter examples in the Lion City, the company stated, are all built-up units imported from its Kawasaki manufacturing facility.
Specifications
Here are the Fuso eCanter’s specifications as seen on its website.
It is offered in a multitude of applications, which are under the three wheelbase options: short, long, and extra-long. All choices are ready to be fitted with any of the three battery configurations (41, 83 and 124 kWh) that helps the truck cover up to 200 kilometers in one full charge.

Other amenities that have been made available in the truck are the keyless entry system that complements the electronic starter switch.
