Shingo Sakai appointed Hino PH president

MANILA: Shingo Sakai has been named as Hino Motors Philippines' new president.

Sakai was officially welcomed as  the new president during HMP's 8th annual dealer conference held on Friday, January 27, at the Sheraton Manila Hotel Ballroom. Sakai succeeds Mitsuharu Tabata, who led HMP for four years.

In the ceremony, Sakai thanked Tabata for maintaining the company's resilience and stability during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sakai also emphasized the need to build on Tabata's remarkable accomplishments, which include a strong push for the brand's Total Support (TS) credo and the digitalization of both internal and dealer procedures.

In his opening remarks, Sakai underscored the leadership approach he coined H.O.P.E., which stands for Honest, Open, Perseverant, and Earnest. Also, he stressed how important Total Support is and how consistent customer retention is the key to long-term business success.

The cornerstone of Hino's brand philosophy, Total Support, promotes a comprehensive approach to customer service. Hino recognizes the need of achieving maximum, uninterrupted uptime while minimizing overhead costs. In keeping with its TS commitment, Hino offers solid support for customers with high-quality, dependable, and durable products and aftersales service.

Sakai has been working for Hino for 15 years. He joined Hino in 2007 and has extensive experience in marketing, sales, planning, and research. Sakai also devoted due attention to handling business planning, aftersales, and production for the ASEAN and Australian markets. Before joining HMP, he was the General Manager for Total Support at Hino Motors, Ltd.

Sakai aims to make Hino the top choice for commercial vehicles for business owners and drivers, while maintaining a strong dealership network and a solid organization at HMP.
