Sojitz Fuso turns over 10 FJ Wing Van trucks to Shopee Xpress

MANILA: Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the distributor of Fuso trucks and buses in the Philippines, turned over 10 Fuso FJ 2528R Wing Van trucks to SPX Philippines, Inc. (Shopee Xpress), the online shopping platform's standard delivery service.

The FJ 2528R is a 25-ton 10-wheeler heavy duty truck, with the first in the Philippines to have a natural 32-feet loading span, SFP said. "The truck’s size and toughness make it ideal for distribution of products across the country." the distributor added.

The partnership between SFP and Shopee also brought truck driving training to Shopee's drivers. Last August and September, SFP conducted a wide range of training programs such as Basic Truck Information, Periodic Maintenance Service, Safety Driving Measures, and Efficient Driving to Shopee’s drivers and operations team. 

“We hope that these programs will help our drivers manage the trucks better and our daily operations run more smoothly,” SPX Philippines Logistics Head Jessie Baylon expressed. 

Powered by a fuel-efficient 6S20 diesel engine, the FJ delivers an output of 281hp and 1,120Nm of torque. The 6S20 engine is mated to a nine-speed manual transmission with double synchronizer designed for quicker and smoother operation, better acceleration, and fuel economy. The FJ is also equipped with dual circuit full-air brakes for a more reliable braking performance.

The anti-lock braking system (ABS) provides additional safety and utmost care to deliver goods and cargo, as the FJ trucks deliver the products from Shopee sellers nationwide.

"Launched in 2015, Shopee aims to provide customers with an easy, secure, and fast online shopping experience through strong payment and fulfillment support," SFP said.

"With more people relying on ordering, delivering, and tracking items due to pandemic, SFP considers this partnership is a great choice for improving operational efficiency," the company added. 

To service the Fuso trucks, as well as to offer its trucks and buses, SFP boasted its wide network of strategically located outlets and service centers across the Philippines.
