The Hyundai HD48 GT Modern PUV aims to further modernize public transport
MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) adds another Hyundai commercial vehicle in its roster with the HD48 GT Modern PUV (public utility vehicle).
The HD48 is expected to build on Hyundai’s success in the modernization of the transport sector, HARI said. This year, the distributor sold over 100 units of its modern PUVs to transport cooperatives nationwide — helping advance mass mobility in Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Cavite, Bulacan, and Tacloban.
Made from high-tensile steel, the HD48 also sports a lightweight structure that is flexible enough to withstand the twists and turns of punishing drives.
As for the body that sits atop this structure, it is made by Centro. The modern PUV has also recently been certified as compliant by the Philippine National Standards (PNS) for shape, size, dimensions, and other specifications to ensure high-definition safety, comfort, and reliability.
Inside, the HD48 GT has room for up to 22 people including the driver, plus space for eight to 10 passengers who can stand in between the benches.
The vehicle is also equipped with an Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS), security cameras, GPS tracker, and a seven-inch monitor. Outside, the vehicle is fitted with LED signage.
For safety, a buzzer warns the driver should the safety program sense the vehicle is speeding, while the Load-sensing Proportional Valve (LSPV) and Auto adjuster modifies the braking force depending on vehicle load.
The HD48 is powered by a Euro 4-compliant 2.9-liter turbodiesel engine, which is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. To keep the vehicle's mechanicals in check, the HD48 comes with a three-year warranty, or equivalent to 100,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).
