The Hyundai HD65 is a versatile and tough light-duty truck
MANILA: Hyundai has been known for its versatile lineup of trucks for various business mobility needs. One of its hardworking and dependable commercial vehicles is the HD65 which comes with features and capabilities that meet the rigor of daily business operations, as well as the customers’ demands.
The HD65 is built with a heat-treated, web-strengthened, ultra-rigid frame that helps achieve outstanding performance and superior safety. The steel frame is made extra resilient with crossmembers and new bolt-type fasteners that help improve resistance to frame twisting and flexing, inhibiting the acceleration of wear and tear.
The suspension resilience has also been optimized through the strength and stability of leaf springs with advanced shock-absorbing technology. The rigid cab suspension also helps reduce vibration, allowing the truck to deliver a smooth and stable ride on its daily operations.
The HD65 is powered by a Euro 4 D4GA direct-injection diesel engine with turbocharger. This engine produces maximum power output of 150ps at 2,500rpm and maximum torque of 59kg-m at 1,400rpm. The HD65 gets a five-speed manual transmission.
The truck comes with large-sized brake linings and tandem brake boosters that deliver consistent braking power. It is even made more dependable by the load-sensing proportioning valve (LSPV) that helps the vehicle adjust weight distribution accordingly depending on the load, to ensure that the truck is steady and secure while running. The HD65 is also equipped with multi focus reflection (MFR) headlamps, three-point ELR seatbelts, and aluminum safety steps.
The 50-degree tilting cab feature makes it easier to conduct service and maintenance on the HD65 as it provides quick access to the engine compartment. The truck also comes with an advanced integrated fuel filter that requires service at 20,000-km intervals. Truck owners can also proactively check the fluid levels, fuses, and replacement bulbs as the Hyundai HD series comes with added utilities such as air cleaner, fuse box, radiator reservoir tank, tool box, washer tank, and water separator filter.
The HD65’s upper body can be customized to an aluminum van, refrigerated van, dump truck, dropside truck for construction work, wing van, and other special customizations that the clients need for their business.
Recently, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), through their Hyundai Trucks and Buses Commonwealth dealership, provided assistance to the Korean and Australian Embassies in their donation of HD65 food trucks to the Philippine Red Cross to help in their disaster and emergency response programs. This is part of HARI’s campaign and partnerships with local government and private sectors to promote economic recovery and provide reliable mobility solutions to the Filipinos.
In a statement, HARI President and Chief Executive Officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said, “We are grateful for the support that we’re receiving from government and private sectors that see our lineup of commercial vehicles as key to moving their programs in the hope of a better normal. In response, we, at Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines, shall continue our mission to be a partner in every way, through durable, versatile, and affordable commercial vehicles backed by excellent service, so that our kababayans can focus on what’s truly important — rebuilding the economy and enriching lives.”
