Aston Martin presents new Vantage S, makes 670 hp

MANILA: Aston Martin has presented the latest iteration of the Vantage S, which makes 670 horses with 800 Newton-meters of pulling power.

Now dubbed “the most performance-focused Vantage in Aston Martin’s sports car range,” it is the latest modern “S-badged” nameplate from the British luxury carmaker after the DBX S.

To note, the Aston Martin Vantage first received the coveted “S” suffix — which the carmaker said is added only to “special, high-performance derivatives of core models” — from 2013 to 2018.

Other heritage models to bear the “S” mark include the following:

• Aston Martin Rapide S (2013-2018)
• Aston Martin Vanquish S (2016-2018)

On top of compelling power, the new Aston Martin Vantage S gets distinctive exterior and interior enhancements, establishing the benchmark for the marque’s acclaimed front-engine sports car range.

“For many decades, the illustrious Vantage nameplate has stood for the very best in performance, excitement, and driving thrills. Those qualities were very much at the forefront when the new Vantage was launched to global acclaim last year. Exceeding those qualities was the challenge and motivation behind the new Vantage S. The result is a new benchmark in the front-engined ultra-luxury sports car sector; a car to excite Aston Martin’s passionate and discerning customers, and a vivid demonstration of the talent, scope, and drive which exists within the marque today,” Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Adrian Hallmark said in a press release.

Upgraded powerplant

According to the Gaydon-headquartered automobile company, the Aston Martin Vantage S got an upgraded engine.

Under its bonnet is a tweaked 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo mill, allowing it to produce the numbers mentioned earlier.

In addition, the crew also made slight updates to the throttle pedal weight and response of the Aston Martin Vantage. Aligning with the “S” characteristics, the refined and calibrated components offer a resistance matched to a drive-by-wire throttle map bespoke to the “S” model and tuned for each of the vehicle’s drive modes.

Further, calibration has been done to the powertrain to optimize the Aston Martin Vantage S’ “launch control” system, resulting in an improvement of 0.1 second to its “zero-to-100-kilometers-per-hour” time.

Its top speed remains the same at 202 miles per hour (325 kilometers per hour).

Distinctive exterior, interior features

The new Aston Martin Vantage S can be identified by the new centrally mounted hood blades.

Found on the fenders are striking “S” badges, which the company said are hand-made. The emblems — Aston Martin pointed out — are brass-forged and infilled in red glass enamel with the badge surround chrome-plated in either bright or dark chrome, to match the color of the Aston Martin wings specified by the customer.

At the back, the Aston Martin Vantage S gets a full-width decklid spoiler.

It can be ordered with a bespoke 21-inch Y-spoke wheel in satin black with a red wheel graphic.

Inside, the sports car is upholstered with a unique Alcantara leather paired with the brand’s “Accelerate” interior theme, boasting 2x2 twill carbon fiber trim inlays.

The “S” badging in the cabin is adorned with color-matched embroidered logos on the upper shoulder panel of the seats alongside the iconic Aston Martin wings.

Offering some level of personalization, the cockpit can be had with a red or anodized knurled metal drive mode rotary (color-matched to the seatbelt, contrast welt, contrast stitch and headrest embroidery). The interior can also be specced in full semi-aniline leather or semi-aniline leather and Alcantara in both mono- and dual-tone options.

Global dynamic debut

The Aston Martin Vantage S will make its global dynamic debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Expected delivery date

Customers are now able to place their orders for the Aston Martin Vantage S. Deliveries are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025.
