A lasting relationship: Owner sticks with 10-year-old Mitsubishi L300
In picking the right car, you must choose the one that perfectly suits not only your personality, but also your needs. Once you finally acquire that dream car, you must shower it with tender loving care so your vehicle can surely reward you with a lasting service and dependability.
This is proven in the case of Dr. Ronald Anthony Fernandez, a Mitsubishi L300 Versa Van owner for 10 years and counting. “I own a 1997 Mitsubishi L300 Versa Van gas variant which we bought in 2011. We didn’t plan to buy a van but my patient offered it to me at a very good price so we decided to acquire it because we needed the space for family outings. We were using the Mitsubishi Space Wagon at that time and my family outgrew the MPV,” recalls Dr. Fernandez.
The 51-year-old dentist believes that Mitsubishi is the perfect car brand that would satisfy his needs. He shared, “My first impression about Mitsubishi was made when I was nine years old. My father bought a Celeste and me and my brothers fell in love with it! This is the reason I chose a Mitsubishi Lancer Box Type GSR when I bought my first car. And that is why we also have a Montero Sport now, because we believe that it is still a brand we can rely on!”
Dr. Fernandez has witnessed the brand’s growth in producing different types of vehicles that suits every customer’s lifestyles. He mentioned, “The thing I like the most about Mitsubishi is it always makes a vehicle that caters to the needs of the consumer! They bend edges to give us the best.”
“My main considerations when choosing a vehicle to buy are: parts availability, reliability, price, and comfort,” explains Dr. Fernandez. “Mitsubishis are reliable work horses! Until now, this fact is still very much proven by my 1997 L300 Versa Van.”
Although the iconic nameplate is now carried by the Euro 4-complaint L300 cab and chassis, most Versa Van owners have remained to admire the reliability of their trusted MPV. That is why Mitsubishi has continued the nameplate’s legacy and even upgraded it in its current generation.
The present-day Mitsubishi L300 Cab and Chassis is powered by a 16-valve 2.2-liter turbocharged liter engine that delivers 200Nm of torque, which is 40% more than the L300’s early edition. It also produces more power at 99ps. The common rail diesel engine is now Euro 4-compliant, which makes it more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient. The current L300 is also capable of carrying 1,215kg of occupants and cargo.
The L300 features a higher cab to allow more space for the new engine. It also comes with an improved head unit, dual air-conditioning system, and larger rear combination lamps for a more comfortable and confident drive. It is also built with a more rigid frame to increase the safety and protection level for all its occupants.
Over the years, the Mitsubishi L300 has been constantly producing a remarkable sales rate, which further shows its reliability and trustworthiness.
Vehicle models may come and go, but if you finally found the right one, it would definitely be hard to let it go. For Dr. Fernandez, his trusty Mitsubishi L300 van has been the perfect choice and it will continue to serve as the ideal vehicle that he needs.
