Aston Martin DB5:
Aston Martin cars are a prerequisite in any James Bond movie. Their long gone affair has had us rooting for Aston Martins all along. But their strong bond, began with one car – the alluring DB 5, that mesmerized Bond fans, when it made an extravagant entry in Goldfinger. DB5 can be called the quintessential bond car, as it has been showcased in six Bond flicks and driven by three bonds. Its exquisite looks, glamours styling, and top-notch performance along with the plethora of gadgets it sported like machine guns, a radar, oil slick dispensers, smoke screen, a bullet-proof windshield, retractable tire cutters, rotating number plates, and, of course, the passenger ejector seat, made it the most ingenious creation to come out of Q's lab This 2 door coupe is fitted with a 4 liter naturally aspirated engine, under the hood which delivers a fierce power of 282 bhp and a top speed of 240 km/h.
This quintessential bond car, Aston Martin has appeared in a total of six Bond films, namely, Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale and Skyfall. And has been driven by three bonds - Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig.
Lotus Esprit S1:
Not only this is an incredible Bond car, but the Lotus Esprit S1 submarine is truly prodigious in every way. This ahead of its time car was a one of its kind, which could travel in air, on the ground, and underwater too. Thanks to this unique ride, the 1977 Bond flick, 'the Spy Who Loved Me' became the biggest grosser of the year. Fondly referred as 'Wet Nellie', the car could turn from a roadster into a submarine, with just the flick of a switch. The Lotus featured in one of the most sensational car chases of the movie, but its desirability went a notch higher when Bond jumped off a pier and turned into a submarine at the mere flick of a switch for an underwater chase sequence. Wheel arches that turn into fins, periscope on the roof and leading weaponry including missile launchers, mines, sprayed black dye, and torpedoes shot – made this car one extremely slippery ride.
Aston Martin V12 Vanquish:
Wouldn't you love to own a car, that can just vanish into thin air? Well, I would. If luck is bestowed on us, we might, but James Bond already did in 'Die Another Day'. Remember the scene, when bond was able to escape from the hands of the goons, by vanishing his car. The magnificent car with never heard, never seen before camouflage feature, was incredible - Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. Often referred as 'Vanish', this was a one of its kind car from Q's laboratory. Apart from the normal hoopla of gadgets like front-firing rockets, target seeking guns mounted on the hood, spike-producing tires, the car featured a special cloaking device that allowed the car to immediately become invisible at the push of a button. Similar to DB5, the V12 Vanquish also sported a passenger ejector seat. Apart from the movie 'Die another Day', Vanquish also appeared in two video games, Nightfire (2002) and Everything or Nothing (2004).
BMW Z8:
The Bond series experimented with Timothy Dalton as their bond, which as we all know, failed to shine on the screen. After a flop film and a break of 5 years, Bond makers wanted to return with a band. So, the got in the new dapper, and oh so stylish – Pierce Brosnan and also a new exotic car – the BMW Z8. This time Bond franchise decided to join hands with BMW and it turned out to be a raging success in the form of the gorgeous car – Z8. The star of the movie, Z8 was seen almost in half the movie, before its sad demise. Loaded with a titanium plating and armor, ground to air missiles behind the headlights, a key chain that allowed the car to be controlled remotely, an infra-red tracking system, and a high-sensitivity listening device made Z8, a legendary machine. Unfortunately, the Z8 had to meet a very tragic end, when a helicopter with a large saw, cuts it in half. Z8 lovers everywhere shed a tear.
Aston Martin DB10:
The last edition of the bond film, 007 saw the blue-eyed Daniel Craig driving the quintessential bond car – DB5, you can't go wrong with this. Now, three years later another bond film is all set to release this November, which will have everything a bond film does. A nail-biting script, thrilling action scenes and a swanky ride. Yes, Aston Martin is all set to bestow another exotic ride to 007 in the form of DB10.
