Chevrolet Trailblazer - Features explained
Chevrolet Trailblazer is an American SUV packed with powerful features and fantastic style. An improvement over its predecessor, the latest Chevrolet Trailblazer is perfect for countryside or mountain drive. At the same time, the midsize SUV is also equipped for everyday city drive. The Trailblazer is meant for a safe and comfortable ride at a very competitive rate. Let us look at some of the features of Trailblazer.
Exteriors
The Trailblazer comes with a commanding exterior that sets it apart on the road. There is a dual-port grille which is now wider giving the vehicle a more aggressive stance. The intakes and fog lamps are positioned slightly lower on the all-new bumper. The headlights feature daytime running lights and have been reshaped as a part of “wind noise package.” Along with the changes in the design of door, windows, and windshield seals, the overall noise is reduced inside the cabin. The rear bumper and taillights are nearly the same as they have always been. Chevrolet Trailblazer comes with 18-inch gunmetal wheels giving it, even more, intimidating presence on the road.
Interiors
The design of the dashboard has been revamped making it more user-friendly. The button and controls are present below the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The MyLink infotainment system is compatible with both Apple Car Play and Android Auto. You also get voice recognition support to free you from having to reach out manually. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped with controls for cruise, radio, and phone. The hard plastic is used extensively on the dashboard and interior panels. The contrast stitching gives it a sportier feel.
The space in the interior cabin is sufficient to accommodate seven adults comfortably. The second-row seats can be reclined resulting in sufficient legroom, headroom, and shoulder room. Space in the third row may be suited best for shorter adults or kids. The boot space is sufficient for a few bags, but the third row can be folded to make space for more luggage. The driver’s seat is three-way adjustable and provides support to ensure comfortable ride even on the long journey.
Engine & Performance
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is powered by a 2.8L engine that delivers 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque. There is also a 2.5L variant which produces 163 hp and 380 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission depending on the model. The Euro 4-compliant Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine ensures lowers emissions and improved fuel economy. Trailblazer delivers a fuel economy of 14 kmpl on a highway and 8-9 kmpl in city traffic.
The Trailblazer is capable of easily undertaking steep climbs or off-roading without any problem. Hitching a trailer up to 3 tonnes and 800 mm of water wading reflect some of the Trailblazer’s capabilities. The electronic power steering makes turning and manoeuvring seamless. The car becomes slightly heavier at high speeds. The new suspension makes the ride even more comfortable.
Safety Features
Chevrolet Trailblazer is packed with a range of safety features to ensure a safe ride. There is a Side Blind Zone Alert which takes care of any vehicles that may enter blind spots on the side. The LED lit alert symbol alerts the driver of presence in the blind spot. The Forward Collision Alert uses the camera mounted on the rear view mirror and the front sensors to provide an alert if the car gets too close to the vehicle in the front. The feature which provides audible and visual warnings works only above 40 kmpl.
The Lane Departure Warning sounds an audio and visual alert if the car changes lanes without indicators. The lane should be visible, and the speed of the car should be above 60 kmpl for this feature to function. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert is usable while backing out of the parking and moving vehicles are present. Chevrolet Trailblazer also comes with Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Assist which is helpful while navigating the hilly terrain. The former holds the brakes for 2 seconds after it is released to provide time to accelerate.
Chevrolet Trailblazer is available in the Philippines from a starting price of Php 1,618,888 and goes all the way up to Php 1,998,888. Chevrolet also offers a five-year warranty with the Trailblazer.
