Join us as we explore the interior of the Mitsubishi XForce.

    Pleasantly posh

The interior of the Mitsubishi XForce is pleasantly opulent.

As an example, the range-topping GT variant gets white mélange fabric with soft padding on the dashboard and the door cards of the crossover. It blends well with the brown plastic trims on the lower part of the dash that also serve as additional compartments for those sitting at the front.

It also has ambient lighting to help occupants during low-light conditions.

The seats of the Mitsubishi XForce GT are fitted with synthetic leather with a heat guard, so as to help passengers feel a tad comfortable when hopping in the crossover during hot weather. The multi-functional steering wheel is likewise swathed in a similar material. Also sharing the same theme is the boot of the gear shifter.

    Storage space galore

Convenience must have played a huge part in the design process of the Mitsubishi XForce as it offers plenty of storage spaces not only for those sitting at the front but also for occupants staying in the second row.

Starting with the aforementioned compartments on the lower portion of the dashboard, these pockets can hold light items like wallets, cards, smartphones, or — if you’re traveling with tots — snacks.Speaking of which, it has bottle holders on each of the front doors, as well as two cup holders on the center console. If the passengers’ beverages need to be kept cool, the center console box can hold up to four small bottles and even has a cooling function.

Those sitting at the back have their own bottle holders on the doors, a pull-down armrest (also with cup holders), as well as pockets for their smartphones in the form of back pockets behind the front seats.

Additionally, there’s a sunglass holder near the lighting controls and a seat undertray — with a two-kilogram maximum capacity — placed under the seat of the front passenger.

    Smart screens

Past the crossover’s steering wheel is an eight-inch digital instrument cluster that can display a variety of information relevant to the driver. Things like the drive mode and its suite of advanced driver assist systems can be viewed from the instrument panel.

It is complemented by a monolithic 12.3-inch infotainment screen, which feeds more information to the occupants. Like the aforementioned instrument meter, the infotainment display is also customizable and has different display options to best suit the driving style and needs of its owners.

Our favorite would be the “Avionics” screen, which displays information about the brakes, coolant, the fuel injection system, tire pressure, acceleration, vacuum, and torque of the Mitsubishi XForce. Here one can also check the ambient temperature, the barometer, and the current drive mode used.

Both screens have decent response times and offer crisp projections of whatever data needs to be acquired.

Also, the infotainment system is wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capable.

    Curated cooling

The Mitsubishi XForce has been designed and engineered to meet the needs of the ASEAN market. That said, it is built with plenty of features that can help its owners cool in typical hot weather.

As we’ve mentioned earlier, the Mitsubishi XForce has leather-wrapped seats with a heat guard to help make one’s experience more comfortable after the crossover has been left parked under the sun. It also has an air conditioning vent under the steering wheel, which can help maintain a cool cabin.

The people sitting at the back also get their own louvers so they won’t have to share the AC with those sitting at the front.

Further boosting the Mitsubishi XForce’s ventilation properties is the Panasonic nanoe X technology, which helps purify and improve the air quality inside the vehicle.

    Final thoughts

The Mitsubishi XForce has a cabin packed with some of the best technologies for the price. It has a bit of opulence to it, but still retains the practical amenities as well as a dash of rugged technologies that makes it a well-rounded crossover.
