Emzoom GS
The GAC Emzoom GS offers crossover fans a good proposition for a base-level variant.
At the fore is the marque’s three-dimensional “Fly Wing” grille flanked by “Laser Eye” LED headlights with height adjustment, alarm, and follow-me-home functionalities. They are accompanied by LED daytime running lights.

Its side profile flaunts aggressive-looking cuts that help give the vehicle an athletic and masculine appearance. These are complemented by blacked-out claddings, which come in the form of wheel arches, side sill garnishes, and additional coverings on the bottom of its doors.
The GAC Emzoom GS also has dark-colored pillars, black trims on the side mirrors, and sable-hued appliques above its shoulders, which gives the impression of a floating roof. Notable also are its 18-inch wheels with 225/55 radial tires, two roof rails, and flush door handles, which add a dash of modernity to the crossover
At the back, the entry-level variant has a hydraulically assisted tailgate, geometrically-designed LED taillamps and reflectors, a sporty spoiler with an integrated brake lamp, and a beefy bumper with faux dual exhaust tips finished in chrome.
Inside, the GAC Emzoom GS receives fabric seats, a polyurethane steering wheel, manual air conditioning (but with a PM 0.1 air filter), a 3.5-inch instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch multi-functional touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Carplay and Android phone mirroring.

Powering the GAC Emzoom across the board is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission that makes the below figures:
Maximum power output (in horsepower) |
174 |
Maximum torque (in Newton-meters) |
270 |
Stopping power for all variants comes from disc brakes, front and back. The front-wheel drive crossover also uses a MacPherson suspension setup at the fore and a torsion beam arrangement at the rear.
Safety-wise, below are GAC Emzoom GS’ available technologies:
- Dual front airbags
- Front-row seatbelts with force limiters
- Front-row seatbelts with unfastened reminders
- Second-row seatbelts with force limiters
- Hill start hold control
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
- Electronic stability program
- Tire pressure monitoring
- Engine immobilizer with anti-theft alarm
Some driving nannies are also included in the base-trim GAC Emzoom, which are cruise control and rear parking sensors.
Emzoom Touring
Slotted in the middle of the hierarchy is the GAC Emzoom Touring. On that note, it builds upon the features of the base trim Emzoom GS and adds a handful of features that elevate the crossover’s look and feel.
Those opting for the said variant can expect to get the R-style sporty kit (which consists of a sporty front spoiler and a rear diffuser), center-mounted twin exhaust pipes, and a “Touring” badge.

The cabin now has PVC leather seats, a multi-functional leather steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, and rear reading lights.
One of the more notable improvements here is the implementation of a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Further, it now gets four speakers (two speakers for GS variant), and a rear USB port for charging gadgets.

In the area of safety, the mid Touring variant of the GAC Emzoom gets a rear camera.
Emzoom R-Style
Finally, the top-of-the-line GAC Emzoom R-Style variant brings with it all the bells and whistles one can get from the nameplate. These include not only exterior and interior upgrades but also a major bump in its safety features.
To begin with, the GAC Emzoom R-Style wears more stylish kicks in the form of 19-inch wheels shod in 235/45 Michelin Pilot Sport tires. It also has an electric tailgate, auto-folding and heating side mirrors, rain-sensing front windscreen wipers, and a sunroof with electric sunshades.

Added to its interior amenities is a six-way power driver’s seat, front and second row one-touch up and down power windows, front sun visors with mirror and lamp, and multi-color ambient lights.
It also now offers a wireless smartphone charger and six speakers to deliver audio to its occupants.

Customers getting the GAC Emzoom R-Style will get their money’s worth with its suite of safety features, which come with the below technologies:
- Dual front side airbags
- Side curtain airbags
- Front-row seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters
- Second-row seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters

Final thoughts
GAC Motor Philippines appears to have done a good job of understanding how it should distribute the features of the Emzoom on the crossover’s three available variants.
Those who want to enjoy the nameplate’s basic capabilities would do well with the GS trim, while those who want to experience improved convenience will find the Touring trim suitable. On the other hand, those who want to be backed by a suite of safety features can find what they are looking for with the R-Style grade.
