Pricing for the all-new Honda CR-V ranges from P2.1 million to P2.59 million. As one of the most popular sport utility vehicles in the Philippines, the Honda CR-V has undergone a significant makeover, boasting a fresh design, advanced technologies, and a range of improvements to enhance the overall driving experience.
Let’s take a look at the key features of the nameplate's sixth-generation offering.
e:HEV technology
The all-new Honda CR-V brings hybrid technology to the table, combining a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson Cycle engine with two electric motors — the Traction Motor and the Generator Motor. What made it special is its intelligent and seamless power delivery that optimizes fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.
The gasoline engine delivers up to 148 horsepower (hp) and 183 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the electric motors produce as much as 184hp and 335Nm of pulling power..
While the motor runs in the low- to high-speed range, the e:HEV system uses the gasoline engine alone for high-speed cruising.
The e:HEV system offers three driving operations – EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive – allowing flexibility that would suit one's driving preference (in addition to the Sport, Normal and Econ modes).
The e:HEV system can recover energy from braking and deceleration and friction losses that would otherwise be wasted through its regenerative braking system and traction motor.
This increases the all-new Honda CR-V's electric power range and improves fuel efficiency even more. The engine can also be used to recharge the battery that acts as a generator to maintain the electric drive system's readiness for immediate use.
Aside from the e:HEV variant, the all-new Honda CR-V is also available in two internal combustion engine-powered variants, the V Turbo and the VX Turbo AWD.
Honda Connect
The Honda Connect system brings convenience to another level with its advanced connectivity options. It uses smart telematics technology to give users a seamless connection with their vehicles through a smartphone app.
Those who will get the all-new Honda CR-V can use their smartphones to communicate with their vehicle, monitor its status, and even receive alerts.
Among the features of Honda Connect include Automatic Collision Detection that automatically detects collisions and calls for assistance when necessary; Speed Alert that enables the owner to monitor on how their vehicle is being driven through a series of notifications whenever it exceeds the speed limit; and Security Alarm Detection that delivers an alert when the alarm is triggered by intruders.
Its security features include Find My Car that helps the owner when they are having trouble finding their vehicle, Geofencing Alert that warns the owner if their vehicle leaves a designated area limit, and Emergency Calls that makes it easier to connect with emergency contacts through the app.
Honda Connect also comes with convenience features such as Car Status that serves as both an alert system for anything that needs attention and as the vehicle's diagnostic support system. The fuel level, battery, lock, and airbag status may be remotely checked using this feature.
Another convenience feature is Remote Vehicle Control that enables the owner to control various functions through a smartphone app. These functions include remote lock and unlock, remote lock and start, remote air conditioner control, and remote light control.
Meanwhile, the Service Reminder feature notifies the owner automatically when maintenance is due and can set up an appointment at the nearest authorized service center.
Honda Sensing
All variants of the all-new Honda CR-V come standard with the latest version of Honda Sensing driver-assistive technology with a new front sensor camera and radar system.
The new camera's field of view is wider than the previous version (from 50 to 90 degrees). The radar positioned behind the Honda logo on the grille, on the other hand, now has a 120-degree field of view — an increase of 70 degrees over the previous model. This enables better detection of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Among the upgrades on the Honda Sensing features are the addition of the acceleration function linked with turn signal and the improved stop detection performance of the Adaptive Cruise Control. The centering performance and the disturbance prevention performance of the Lane Keeping Assist System were also enhanced.
The Adaptive Driving Beam that is exclusively available for the RS e:HEV variant reduces dazzle and improves visibility from a distance.
There is also an expanded control range over bicycles and motorcycles, as well as vehicles entering an intersection, in the Collision Mitigation Braking System. The detection range of the Road Departure Mitigation System was also expanded up to road shoulders and curbs. Meanwhile, the Lead Car Departure Notification System informs the driver of the start of the preceding car.
Sleek and modern design
The overall look of the all-new Honda CR-V is sportier and more upscale. These are highlighted by its angular lines, a large front grille, and a svelte roofline. It is also longer and wider than the previous CR-V generations.
Exclusive to the e:HEV RS variant are the RS grille design, panoramic sunroof, Piano Black side mirrors with turn signals, Gloss Black door sash, front and rear LED fog lights, body color rear spoiler with Piano Black accents, Piano Black shark fin antenna, and 18-inch Piano Black RS aluminum alloy wheels.
The VX Turbo AWD variant features a newly designed front grille in Piano Black, while the V Turbo variant’s grille is finished in Honeycomb with Chrome. Both variants also come with electrically adjustable and automatic retractable side mirrors with turn lamps, all-LED lighting system, power tailgate with Walk Away Close, and 18-inch Silver aluminum alloy wheels.
On the inside, the all-new Honda CR-V offers a spacious cabin equipped with nine-inch touchscreen audio, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight-speaker sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control for V Turbo variant and intelligent dual and tri-zone automatic for VX Turbo AWD variant, Black leather seats, sliding and reclining second-row seats, wireless charger, and active noise control.
The e:HEV RS variant also comes with exclusive interior features such as head-up display, Bose premium audio system with 12 speakers, Black leather seats with Red stitching, and two-row seating.
