Here are the updated Kia Seltos’ 3 variants

Kia Philippines recently launched the latest iteration of the Seltos crossover. The updated version of the nameplate boasts modern looks, up-to-date interior features, as well as a capable engine.

Today, we check out its three available variants to help car buyers eyeing the Kia Seltos pick the right one for them.

Exterior

The Kia Seltos wears different exterior appointments depending on the variant.

For example, the base LX trim gets dual halogen projector headlamps, standard daytime running lights, halogen fog lights, standard position lamps, and standard rear combination lamps.

It wears a black radiator grille, black beltline moldings, body-colored door handles, and body-colored side mirrors.

Meanwhile, the mid-variant EX gets LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, power-folding side mirrors, and a glossy black radiator grille.

On the other hand, the range-topping SX grade comes with upmarket trims like LED fog lamps, LED position lamps, a panoramic sunroof, a pair of roof rails, satin finish beltline moldings, chrome outside door handles, and LED rear combination taillamps.

All variants ride on 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/60 R17 rubbers.

Interior

Inside, the base model gets an instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch LCD screen, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, seats wrapped in cloth, a polyurethane shift knob, and a single-zone automatic air conditioning system.

Upping the cabin features is the mid-variant model with smart remote keyless entry and an illuminated push start button.

Further, the top-of-the-line variant takes things up a notch with leather seats, a leather shift knob, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, a large 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a dual-zone automatic air conditioning unit, and a wireless mobile phone charger.

Engine

Both the LX and EX variants are powered by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. They generate a maximum power output of 113 horses and achieve peak torque at 144 Newton-meters (Nm).

On the other hand, the SX trim gets a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline powerplant paired with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The setup makes 138 horsepower with 242Nm of torque.

Safety

Safety-wise, all variants get standard features like airbags and seatbelts, an anti-lock brake system, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and an anti-theft system.

The mid-variant gets driver-assist features like cruise control, a rear camera, and parking sensors.

Finally, the top-tier variant gets a bolstered list of safety technologies with features like smart cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, and forward collision avoidance assist.
